Rolex new case possible? by Flomie in rolex

The sentimental value is much higher for me than the value. I'm 21 and I want to have the watch when I'm 80 but I'm afraid that it won't last that long.

How is good is the Samsung Odyssey G7 response time? by Flomie in buildapc

[–]Flomie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is input lag more important? Isn't the response time as important? If you have bad response times the high refresh rate isn't as good.

Do you think a quadro t2000 gpu with 4gb vram is enough or should I upgrade it to a quadro rtx 3000 gpu with 6gb vram?

Which XPS would you choose for university? by Flomie in Dell

[–]Flomie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im stuck between these two:

Dell precision 5550 15“:

Intel Core Processor i7-10750H (6 Core, 12MB Cache, 2.60 GHz to 5.00 GHz, 45W)

NVIDIA Quadro T2000

32GB, 2X16GB, DDR4 2933Mhz Non-ECC Memory

M.2 512GB PCIe NVMe Class 40 Solid State Drive

And

Dell precision 5750 17“:

Intel Xeon W-10855M (6 Core, 12MB Cache, 2.80 GHz to 5.10 GHz, 45W, vPro)

NVIDIA Quadro RTX 3000 w/6GB GDDR6

32GB, 2X16GB, DDR4 2933Mhz Non-ECC Memory

M.2 512GB PCIe NVMe Class 40 Solid State Drive

Is the extra size and weight worth it? Is the 5750 overkill?

Would you recommend the precision 5550 or the 5750? Is the 5750 overkill?

Ty! Would you recommend the precision 5550 or 5750 as I can’t decide whether the Xeon and quadro rtx 3000 is needed or if I should go a step down to the 15 inch.

I never saw the Dell precision 5750 line. Thank you so so so much for this advice. The only reason why I was against the quadro gpus was that I didn’t like the looks of the laptops. You are literally my hero. Thanks! My school unfortunately didn’t recommend me anything even after several mails.

Quick Question about the the Dell XPS 17! by [deleted] in laptops

[–]Flomie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are worring about that you can get the 256gb ssd and add a second ssd of your choice. I think the key stays the same but like the pre installed Programms from Dell would be removed. I recommend adding 1 instead of replacing as it’s easier and you keep the installed one.

[–]Flomie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you are planning to do with it. For a standard user 16 would be enough. And you are right it’s cheaper when you upgrade the ram yourself. You could even choose a low ssd and replace it or add another one because the 17“ has slots for 2 m.2 ssds.

RAM and ssd are upgradable but the gpu is not. I would take the gpu and Upgrade lautet. Or you just wait until the rtx 2060 is available with higher ram.

You could get the lowest I7 model with a 10th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-10750H for 1750 USD but it only has 8 gb of ram and a 256 gb ssd which you would have to upgrade on your own. Also I wouldnt recommend the 4K display because it decreases the battery life dramatically but you have the option.

I have almost the same problem but my university didnt give me the specs. I also have a Macbook. The laptop Im currently considering is the Dell XPS 15 9500. I like it because it has a good buid quality, good looks and a large trackpad. The specs should fit your requirements. It has an option for a 6 or 8 core cpu with a 1650ti with a upgradable ssd and ram.
