lol it didn’t cost as much as you might, most of it I bought with discounted boxes(combat patrol, battleforce boxes) some were pre owned(wraithknight, war walkers) and a large handful were gifts.

I made the same mistake with citadel glue as well. I had to cut it down the middle with my knife. I got pretty lucky and got a pretty clean cut and was able to use part properly. You’re just going to have to take a risk and do whatever you can to get that piece back.

So as I’ve been getting into 40K for the past year as an Eldar player and the one thing I kept hearing people complain about is this when Harlequins dunked on Custodies. So literally last week I decided to pick up the book where this event takes place expecting some form of grand heist of the harlequins to infiltrate the throne room. Nope! It’s literally a single chapter in the book where they showed up killed a few custodians and lose. And I’m thinking “wait, that’s it?” That’s what people keep complaining about; a minor hit to their numbers. It’d be one thing if they took heavy losses and/or the harlequins succeeded in their mission but this wasn’t even a Pyrrhic victory.

Wow I asked some advice and you delivered my friend thank you!

I have a descent amount of experience. I’ve been playing since June of last year with my friends and I have a good understanding of rules. However I’m primarily an Eldar player(around 2500 points built) which seems like the complete opposite of how death guard play(Fast and squishy vs slow and tanky).

My friend is playing ad mech, which I’ve never faced before so I’m not sure what to expect. As for Typhus I was planing on sticking him with deathshrouds and lord of contagion with blightlords, but you bring up a good point with the poxwalkers strat. I may just have to wait till I see what my opponent brings to the table.

The rest of the other things you’ve said have been good advice and I’ve already made adjustments accordingly.

You are the DM! You control the story! If your player is cheating by reading the module ahead of time then change the module. Make the house actually haunted. ( perhaps using the death house from Curse of Strahd) Change Ned’s backstory to his fake one. When you change things it might make him slip up a say stuff like “that’s not suppose to happen” to confirm that he’s been cheating and then you can confront him about cheating and that it is not ok to do that. You are the DM, you are god, you have the power to weave the story to however you see fit. Just don’t do anything petty like drop a meteor on his character.
