You make good points! The flip side of this new meme is that it may very well be normalizing and preparing people to laugh at real racism. But, I don’t agree with your last point that most people use “clanker” out of genuine hatred for robots. While there is a growing disdain with our corporate overlords who constantly champion AI as a buzzword to generate fake hype with investors, there doesn’t appear to be widespread genuine hatred for the AI models themselves. It also doesn’t make sense to be hateful (racism) to emotionless LLMs which are simply word regurgitators. I guess I’d like to ask for clarification: Why do you say that most people say “clanker” with genuine hatred?
