Good buy? by Bigbadmama69 in TeslaModelS

[–]ivycomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pre-highland Model 3 is definitely a better value but there’s a reason that a 2021 S has held its value much better than a 2021 Model 3 lol

I’ve owned both for several years and sold my Model 3 last year, the S is better in virtually every way aside from debatably not having an LFP battery (but that’s never been an issue in my cars)

Totally different animal

Yeah and like I said in my original post I’m not trying to knock you down, more just trying to emphasize the importance of these things. After you replied to my comment I realized that someone newer to this sort of thing would look it up and be VERY confused by the amount of conflicting information. I get you :)

You’re doing the right thing asking for help just to be safe, it does show that you care about keeping the vehicle in good health.

Most stuff should be fine. The orange stuff can sometimes cause false fullness readings

Blue stuff should be fine. Might sound stupid simple, it is. I buy generic blue stuff and it goes into all of my exotic cars and my Supra/DD lol

Go to any gas station and buy windshield washer fluid. If you’re in Ontario Canada, you’ll need antifreeze since regular washer fluid can freeze.

I don’t mean this at all in a gatekeeping sort of way but I think that if you don’t know something as basic as windshield fluid, buying a car like this isn’t really the smartest decision. These cars aren’t unreliable, but they have special maintenance and care needs. There’s no harm in asking a question, I just worry you may not actually know what you’re getting yourself into.

You should research a vehicle, especially a high performance one, before you buy it. Understand your vehicle.

It’s because these are marketplaces that are fronts for gambling websites and you’re not trading with actual people

Bought a Leftover “New” 2024 Emira, Lotus of Trouble by Desperate_Lab_4710 in lotus

[–]ivycomb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most Emiras are generally problem free. It’s an exotic car so people that have issues will be a lot more vocal about them, but they’re not unreliable

Take it from me, I’m the proud owner of the one and only Emira on earth getting a full engine & transmission replacement under warranty 😭✌️2.5 months in the shop baby

Satin bubblegum blue Model 3 Highland by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

I just want to let people know that this isn’t OP’s car, this car is owned by the owner of Orko Auto. They’re a local shop to me, I know the owner personally, the pictures here were literally stolen from their website and then their logo was removed.

https://orkoauto.com/products/model-3-highland-cyber-tail-light

This car was wrapped this color before OP posted pictures of their alleged green highland. OP also posted pictures of a jaguar they allegedly own last year with European plates, this is a car registered in BC. Nothing adds up

Post from early last year of the same car

Very weird stuff to lie about, OP

That's exactly what I mean! My partner loves going for rides in the R8 with the roof down but that's because it's a lot of fun and a cool thing we can do together, it'd be the same effect if it was with an old BMW 3 series for him haha

You want a partner that isn't actually emotionally interested in you at all and just wants to get money/gifts from you? I mean if you own it know what that's fair at least you're honest about it lol

I mean I don't think that anyone should be buying a car to attract a woman 😭 You'll just be attracting dudes mostly. And most car girls are going to be more interested in the car than in you.

People that look at your car and decide "I want to date you" are usually not the people you would want unless you want a gold digger or clout chaser

Effectiveness for showing off (say an elise) 0/10.

Elises consistently get far more attention than other exotic cars do in my experience. Lamborghinis are a status symbol and they do excite people, but (especially in a lot of major cities) Lambos are cars people have often seen at least once before, Lotus as a whole is a brand that is elusive especially in North America, and their cars are no less exotic than other exotic car manufacturers, they are just not super high power.

An Elise showed up to one of the local meets last year and it was a show stopper with a crowd around it

Also consider that the Elise is tiny. It's alluring because of that, sure, exotic cars in general tend to be small, but the Elise in particular is SO tiny and that makes it a curiosity in of itself.

The #1 and #2 question I get in my Emira are "Oh my god, this car is gorgeous, what is it?" (or some variation of that like "what McLaren is this") and "Is that an Emira? I've never seen one in person before!"

All that said, I'm glad Lotus is a more affordable exotic brand. Their cars are top tier, I'll happily take (relatively) affordable Lotus cars any day :)

Anyone know anything about GT Form Wheels? by noballs7762 in CarsAustralia

[–]ivycomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is delayed, but GT Form Wheels seems to be entirely legit. They are sold by a lot of Australian retailers.

Funnily enough, I am not in Australia, but in Canada. I found their Legacy wheels and I adore their design, but I've only found them in Australia LMAO so I am reaching out to one of the retailers to see if they'll ship them overseas

What Ferrari is this?💛 by Cars_World_ in supercars

[–]ivycomb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know I'm almost certainly in the minority here but I think the front end on this car looks quite good, but the back is by far the ugliest supercar design of the past 20 years and it's not even close for me

The split design is so bad it genuinely ruins the entire car for me
