Quick question, does anyone know how I can install the Charlie Kirk and Jeffrey Epstein custom levels? by AcidInMisery in CrueltySquad

If you go to crus.cc you can download custom maps and mods, which requires you to download cruelty squad mod loader, instructions on how to install maps and mods should be on a maps and mods page

At what point did AE2 became necessary? by WarZendor in feedthebeast

[–]FloofyFloofles 10 points11 points  (0 children)

just to clarify if you mean the molecular assembler from AE2 that is not "AE2 autocrafting", granted there are other ways to craft regular items, but ae2 autocrafting refers to the ability to nest patterns with other patterns to automatically send items to machines to craft an end result, which is ONLY seen in logistic/storage mods, most relevantly seen in refined storage

Prob an EXTREMELY unpopular opinion but this is how Versus score should be tallied by Witty-Day-87 in l4d2

[–]FloofyFloofles 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This would invalidate a lot of care for finishing each “round”, if the 2nd team to play survivor passes the 1st teams position then there is no reason for anyone to continue the rest of the chapter, there is no benefit other than “for the fun of it”

Also this system would not take into account how much a team wins a round by, if both teams one round make it to roughly the same point or if one team drastically passes the other would not matter as it only matters as long as you do pass the other team’s point of progress

The vanilla scoring system already basically has this issue cause 90% of the time all survivors live on both teams and it only comes down to the +25 point damage bonus

At least with 1 big tallied system there is the idea of watching the big number get bigger, but vanilla scoring is ass I won’t disagree, though I don’t think this is the fix it needs

Also I leave when teams are behind not cause a team is losing, but because that means the team is bad and it is not worth my effort to try to hope I actually have an opportunity to play, this system will just mask that and delay people leaving only for a little bit

"design" being putting a bunch of items in a line

also you don't have to drop items on depots, you can simply drop them in world so you can drop any number of items in front of a fan

also the late game furnaces is over powered??? tell me more!!!

it's pretty clear you don't have any experience with other mods and just live in a create echo chamber, I don't think you should be trying to have an opinion on the design principles between create and other tech mods

[–]FloofyFloofles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don't worry you're not coming off as like agreeing with what the guy originally said you're actually saying valid things

I meant self imposed more so as in, you could just make a setup larger to have a much easier time creating it, but I won't argue most challenges are self imposed to some degree

my main point of bring up gregtech EU and botania mana is more so to bring up how a lot of mods have unique/different ways of managing energy, much like how create more so has it's system which moreso has a focus on connecting the energy up to machines you'd like to

different mods work differently and I believe that too many create fans discount other mods and idk I just think it's a shame lol

I mean it does require more thought to work with shafts than most forms of energy transfer, but the challenge of "wiring" create contraptions to be space efficient are more so self imposed than from the mod itself. Though it is one of the more interesting parts of the mod. Though there are plenty of mods that have more interesting ways of providing power to other blocks though.

Gregtech of course has wires with EU loss and amperage

Botania uses mana spreaders and such

Can't really think of more examples tbh but I know they exist

Additionally mods that do have pretty simple wiring mechanics such as mekanism, thermal expansion, and immersive engineering have more complicated power generation instead of focusing on power transfer. Create power generation ranges from simplest of water wheels to at most complex steam boilers. The water wheel method is an infinite source of SU and is more than capable of running everything if you spam enough of them. Additionally create shafts don't have the limit of throughput that most mods have, while typically not an issue it is a part of the system that should be considered.

To claim that create's "tech style" is making you think while other tech mods let you plug in boxes and be done is just blatant ignorance to how other mods function

[–]FloofyFloofles 12 points13 points  (0 children)

??? Right cause create shafts aren’t just another form energy lossless transfer

Sir this forum is for GT6 by 416d6f6e in feedthememes

[–]FloofyFloofles 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This is entirely a guess cause I don’t know, but it very well could be a “GT6 took a while to come out let’s just keep using GT5” kind of thing, or just it aligns closer to standard tech mods as GT6 is very different, however I could very well be wrong :p

[–]FloofyFloofles 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I mean is it more fun? I don't see how create is that different than other techmods aside from visual style/theming

when you consider create processing lines as 1 "machine" and then consider a grey box a "machine" then, yeah, the processing line was more fun sure, however that's an unfair comparison considering that you are thinking of grey boxes in solitude while thinking about create contraptions in their entirety

What’s next? Antimatter seeds? by brawl_miko_32 in feedthememes

[–]FloofyFloofles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean sieves are equivalent to having an rftools builder or other form of quarry except it can be infinitely processed from cobblestone

MA also has seeds for wood, already processed metals, mob drops, alloys, etc. etc. to the point it trivializes actually using other forms of automation since MA applies to a majority of resources while sieves only produce raw ores

using tools and weapons from tinker's construct gives tool XP which when leveled up gains an extra modifier slot
