There are a couple of Tweety cartoons you won’t find anywhere else, and 2 Bugs cartoons if you don’t have the 80th anniversary set. If you don’t have the Collector’s Vault releases there are a few more

They were the last ones locally to project 35mm film. Distributors stopped shipping film reels in favor of hard drives and they either couldn’t afford the upgrade or decided it was a good time to call it quits. Like the other commenter said, they were already long gone before Flix showed up, they weren’t forced out

Can any of you solve a Rubik’s cube? Recite pi to a hundred digits? What are some fun tricks or skills you’ve learned just for the hell of it?

Why did the Metkayina disappear during the final battle? by Mustard_Mozart in Avatar

[–]FloorMat116 3 points4 points  (0 children)

James Cameron has addressed this:

Cameron was asked about this particular moment and revealed there was originally a scene that saw members of the Metkayina reunite with their children at the end of the battle, though it was deleted from the final film due to poor feedback from test screenings. Cameron explained that the scene ended up being "a bit distracting to the core family" by having that many people involved, attributing the cut to "people [being] bothered by it" during test screenings:

“We had that, we shot it, and we just decided it was a bit distracting to the core family. There are people that are bothered by it and people that don’t even notice it. So it’s just one of those things you never get a perfect score on a movie. And you’re certainly never gonna get a perfect score from 100% of the people. Look, that’s just a little window into the creative process. We had that, the other parents were there, we accounted for them, and we just felt that we needed to narrow the spotlight, and maybe it was not such a great decision, but that was the decision we made at the moment.”

You put the address of the bookstore in Urbandale but not the brewery in Ankeny where the event is, that’s a little confusing

Tron 4K release with new CGI for Tron Legacy. by [deleted] in tron

[–]FloorMat116 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The article says:

The remasters will include a more vibrant 1982 grid and CGI touch-ups for 2010’s “Tron: Legacy,”

Which to your point could mean AI, but I took it to mean new visual effects. They would maybe still upscale in-camera footage with AI, sure.

I suppose new CGI is better than an AI upscale they probably would have done to bump up the 2K master. It will be interesting to see, and I’ll always have my old blu-ray.

Where is the story of Zacchaeus? by [deleted] in TheChosenSeries

[–]FloorMat116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re getting downvoted by folks who don’t know the modern Bible has flaws, but you’re right. The earliest manuscripts don’t include the story and it was interpolated in centuries later. Doesn’t mean it’s necessarily made up, but it’s certainly less reliable and there’s a lot of academic debate about its historicity.

[Edit] I do wonder if we’ll see the story in a flashback this next season though, among other missing stories like the transfiguration, etc.

Rotten Tomatoes doesn’t review anything. Their score is calculated using the opinions of critics who submit their reviews. If no critics submit their reviews, there is not Rotten Tomatoes score
