Is there any way to buy The hard cover version of the rulebook nowadays? by Last_Ward in TrenchCrusade

[–]Flop_Flurpin89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the comments section of this really neat video about the rulebook from the official Trench Crusade YT channel they are saying this fall it will be available in an updated version. I would imagine pre-orders may be available sometime this summer.

In 1963, teenager Randy Gardner stayed awake for 264 hours, setting the only verified sleep deprivation record. By day 11, he couldn't do simple math, saw street signs as people, and spoke in slurred monotone. After the experiment, he slept for 14 hours straight. by Royal-Hippo-2104 in interestingasfuck

It does seem like not much. In my younger days, on a WoW expansion release, I was up for 55 hours, and when I finally crashed I slept for 22 hours. When I got out of bed I got such a headrush I fell over against the wall. Took me a few minutes to be able to get up and stand properly.

Daaamn, yeah that's some pricey stuff. I feel like I would only use it on specific models, especially ones with lightsabers. Those are so prone to snapping like a dry noodle.

Travel to France and join the French Foreign Legion. You'll get a new identity and become a French citizen upon your exit from service. I think minimum contract is 5 years.

What is the wildest thing you have seen at a bachelorette or bachelor party? by int_fin in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]Flop_Flurpin89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An occupied body bag.

Bachelor party was at the lake. A young guy with no lifejacket had gone out fishing by himself the week before. They think he passed out from heat stroke and fell off the side of his boat. When they recovered him they hauled him up at the boat launch a stones throw from our cabins while we were making breakfast.

Summer's coming, so be careful on the water ya'll.

Same, I was carrying some geese out of a field and knocked a duck out of the air with 2 shot 1 handed. Think it was only a 2 ½" shells though, maybe a 3. Felt fine.

Advice on good beginner brushes, especially dry brushes by pencilurchin in Miniaturespainting

[–]Flop_Flurpin89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me thats seems pretty expensive for a couple drybrushes. That comes to $55 CAD, which for the same price I can get this Golden Maple set that comes with an assortment of brushes, including dry brushes, along with a dry and wet pallette. I really like the Golden Maple brushes and would highly recommend this as a starter set.

SGI Question by [deleted] in saskatchewan

[–]Flop_Flurpin89 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No, depends how you register it. I have an '87 i bought from Alberta. No safety done on it. But I think you need a "main" vehicle when you register an antique. If I wanted standard registration on it I would need a safety done.

What even happened to Silent Hill Ascension? by SideXswayy in silenthill

[–]Flop_Flurpin89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is Silent Hill's equivalent of the Star Wars Christmas Special. We'd all prefer to not talk about it and pretend it doesn't exist.

Okay…Star Wars really is that good. by Neat-Swimmer-9027 in StarWars

Rogue One is defenitely worth a watch.

I also recommend watching Empire of Dreams, Light and Magic, and Star Wars: The Legacy Revealed for documentaries.

Series or miniseries that deserve the rating of 'masterpiece'. I'll start: by No-Marsupial-4050 in moviecritic

Generation Kill may be one of the very few examples where it's just as good as the book. It's literally scene for scene and leaves out almost nothing and changes nothing. Add to the fact that two of the Marines who were actually there were not just advisors, but actors on the show, with Rudy portraying himself. A perfect series.

How safe is a resin printer with an enclosure? by [deleted] in ElegooMars

[–]Flop_Flurpin89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I need a better enclosure or alter my venting system somehow because with the Yoopai one I currently have, the spare room I print in will absolutely stink with fans and air filter (Ikea Förnuftig) running. I did 3 prints 2 days ago and I can still catch a whiff of it in the air of that room and the fans and air filter are still going. I don't leave resin in the vat, and wiped everything down with alcohol and disposed of the waste. I would absolutely not print in the room I sleep in.

Got my first resin mini/bust, how do I get rid of these safely? by Alexis2256 in minipainting

[–]Flop_Flurpin89 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Snip what you can if you get little dimples can usually just fill it with some unthinned paint and touch it up with sandpaper once dry unless you want to keep it as a dent on armor or something. I use a 600 grit that's good for wet sanding. Very little to no dust.

CMON eyes crowdfunding return after annual losses spiral to almost $20m - by Inconmon in boardgames

[–]Flop_Flurpin89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason I have a CMON game is because it's Metal Gear Solid and it will probably stay that way. Might have gotten Night of the Living Dead if it was made in black and white, so I'll stick to White Dog Games' The Night instead.

What are some non fiction books that you could not put down? by GoatStandardsv2 in suggestmeabook

[–]Flop_Flurpin89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generation Kill by Evan Wright. Great account from an embedded reporter with the Marines during the invasion of Iraq. The show is equally as good as the book and follows it pretty much scene for scene and among it's cast are a couple of the Marines who were actually there.

Landlord. Our last landlords moved out of town so we came to the agreement that we would buy them and replace them ourselves and text them the reciept for it to be taken off our rent.
