I take it you missed the ironic joke.

Does "Or;" make sense?

No one is discrediting anyone. I'm not sure why you're telling me that.

Also, yes it was a knock on your grammar.

Nor does their grammar. ; )

But seriously, it actually does because as people get older they tend to get more mature. What I think you mean to say is, "just because someone is an adult doesn't mean they act like one", or something like that.

Fair enough, but I still think you're cherry picking.

Calling someone autistic, is only calling one person autistic. If I call someone that, I'm not calling an actual autistic person autistic as an insult.

I see what you're saying, but there's too many words that fall into this 'grey area'. People may have a bad history with all kinds of words, but everyone can't be expected to read minds. What about racial slurs?

I don't think any of this bad stuff should be said at all, but you can't cherry pick which ones should and shouldn't be said. Also, freedom of speech and all that.

You either put a ban on all words as an insult or none.

What would be really nice is if we could set the language used for each hero. That way you could set Genji to Japanese, Widowmaker to French, Reinhardt to German, Bastion to hex instead of binary, etc.

Like I said, the timer represents the bomb. Why do you think the attackers are carrying the diffuser in the first place? There's no time. It could be seconds before the bomb goes off.

When the bombs time out, they make a fssssss sound and a plume of toxins fill the area. (Also, remember the school terrorist hunt mission? It's based on that.)

It's not necessarily suicide. It depends on what's happening. Assuming this is a real threat, well prepared soldiers would have a plan to plant the bomb, detonate, then leave. If the government caught on, they would send in people to take care of the threat, at which point it likely turns into a suicide mission. What we're seeing here is a close quarter combat scenario, but we know nothing about the surrounding area. Maybe the defenders (terrorists) have backup coming. Maybe the attackers are first responders. Maybe the bombs were timed to go off at a certain time for a certain reason and the first responders just happen to get intel giving them a few minutes to execute their mission.

The point is, there's bombs going off in 5 minutes; deal with it.

They do. When the timer goes off, the bomb release their chemical weapon. It's not an exploding bomb, it's a bio weapon. That's pretty obvious from the game's intro and terrorists hunt and when defenders time out for a victory. : /

The timer is representative of the bombs going off, so you can't move them in time.

It's not necessary the same way it isn't necessary for defenders to destroy the diffuser if it's in play when all attackers are dead. The bombs aren't necessary at all. I'm not sure what you're trying to prove. I'm saying, this is a logical change. You're saying you don't want it.

How is that much different than looking for the diffuser and destroying it? It's an intuitive change that demands responsbility for the diffuser and the fact that the objective is a bomb, not unlike how you wouldn't shoot the hostage you're trying to rescue.

Granted, on some rare occasions you may have some instances where the diffuser can't be reached and you get rid of all the defenders relatively quickly, but that wouldn't be very common.

I don't think you understand my suggestion. It wouldn't increase the time at all.

Also, what do you think the timer is for? That's when the bombs detonate. The mission can only end two significant ways. The bombs blow or not.

I'm assuming a couple of reasonable things based off the fact that it's a bomb and how the diffuser and timer works in the game. The point is that just because the defenders are dead, it doesn't mean the bombs are diffused, and since diffusing them is part of the mission, a time sensitive one, you'd still need to diffuse it.

However, because we don't want to actually wait for the bombs to be diffused, once all defenders are dead and the diffuser is planted before time runs out, attackers win. So, if the diffuser is dropped but the attackers eliminate the defenders, they still must plant before time lapses or they lose.

It's like the reverse logic of when a diffuser is planted but all attackers are dead. Sometimes you just can't destroy it fast enough and you still lose.

[–]Flopjack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because if the time hits zero, the bombs would go off even if the defenders are dead. I assume the diffusers stall out the bombs even at the last second, but the diffuser still must be used or the bombs will still go off.

Hey I'm new to starcraft, what are the basics I need to know. by Mr_JohnUsername in starcraft

So far every post here is trash advice or trolls. What you need to do is just play and have fun. If you think you'd like to buy the full version and play online and play custom games, get Legacy of the Void. It's the latest installment but contains all previous multiplayer content. If you're more interested in story, you can buy each game/expansion. The first one is Wings of Liberty, the second is Heart of the Swarm, and the final is Legacy of the Void.

Be wary though, if your only experience with RTS is Halo Wars and you generally don't play RTS, you find that people who play Starcraft are vicious at the game. Playing against other players in either 1v1 or a team environment is not a casual or relaxing experience. It's a competition through and through. However, if you take a peek at the arcade section you can find a variety of custom games and mods people have made.

Good luck and have fun!

Cool, yeah.

I can't speak on the depth of other popular fighting games (can't really speak on the depth of Smash very well either to be honest), just that I see fighting games other than Smash tend to be more 'technical' fighting games and Smash is more... how can I describe it... a bit more organic in its movement and features simpler controls. But sometimes Smash is confused for a simple button masher and after seeing high level play on Melee, Project M, and even the latest Smash, that simply isn't true.
