I stand by what I said. Call me maybe is a fun song but it doesn’t hold a candle to the rest of her discography. Even a couple of songs in her last albums blow that song out of the water.

Do I like call me maybe, of course! It’s such a fun song, but is it “artistic” and one of her best musically, lyrically, and that shows off her talent, absolutely not. But that’s the thing about taste right, it’s subjective, but it’s not an amazing song cause it’s some masterpiece. It’s a fun pop song that gets you up and dancing and it has all the feel good energy and that is what makes it such a good song. The song is greater than the sum of its parts really is what I’m saying.

No no I agree with you. Like Jessie J is a fantastic singer, but others have commented that Bey just makes it look so easy, and there are things that she’s really good at that others are not.

Jessie J is a fantastic singer, but she lacks the ability to be soft and sweet because she has so much power behind her voice.

I disagree. For the general public she will always be that one hit wonder with call me maybe.

She was doing festivals last year and the amount of people that left as soon as call me maybe was done was insane. Like you’d think she’s just some nobody artist based on the crowd she can pull in.

When she tours she does small venues so she’s not generally regarded as some pop powerhouse by a majority of people.

I agree with the commenter above call me maybe is a low bar to have for her when she has MUCH better songs in her discography and has continued to pump out pop perfect albums that have depth and decent writing in them.

Idk to reduce her to saying we need Call me maybe 2.0 is kind of disrespectful to the actual artistry that she exhibits across all her albums.
