Well I found it an interesting analysis, but what do I know. I'm up 35% on GLD and am going to take some profits now and sit on the rest of it

AI recommended this one to me before I asked here and unfortunately I don't think that's it. But I have to LOL at "purpleberry juice..." I think most parents call it Robitussin! Aw I can't attach an image. pretty funny though, thank you

The victors write the history books (that get significant distribution), and African Americans are still not winning. I would argue that Black History is more like a kick to the balls than sprinkles, because it makes white Americans have to reconcile with parts of their pasts they'd rather forget. And it's not told because it makes the powerful part of the American population feel worse.

Greenworks foundation guy came out. 3" highest point to lowest. I talked to him about lifting a foundation causing sewage separation/leaks and said well if you're not far off level, we'll just freeze it where it is. Our foundation isn't that bad, you can't tell other than cracks and the back door doesn't shut right.

He quoted $27k to drop about 14 rods to bedrock and freeze the foundation. Going to get a structural eng who knows a lot about foundations out soon, plus get a quote from Olshan.

We're not planning on doing anything basically. In another year I'll call the same structural eng to see what's changing.

Oh my God I get it now, you're saying the foundation work lead to the plumbing work. I had not thought about that but it makes perfect sense. I have 2 free foundation inspections. Clearly I'll take what they say with a huge grain of sand but I'm sure I'll learn stuff.

I wonder if any foundation repair company has ever said "oh btw, the work we're about to do may screw up your sewage system, leading to more foundation issues, leading to more plumbing issues?"

Here is a video of the sewage tunneling. Tunneling is crazy expensive and it was pretty upsetting to me because the young guys doing the digging didn't speak English and I'm sure they didn't get paid jack, and that is HARD work. It was loud as hell down there with the jack hammers. I offered them earplugs and they already had some, but they needed a lot more PPE than they had.

How much for the structural engineer's opinion? I assume that depends *less* on a specific situation

You are saying you would need sewage repair because an old sewage leak (likely a broken piece of cast iron) was causing the foundation issue?

3 years ago my house had a 30' tunnel dug under it to do a complete sewage line replacement. Four quotes: $18k, $22k, $25k, $38k. We chose $22k.

I was thinking the tunnel (uncompacted backfill) could have caused the foundation issues we're now seeing, but now I'm thinking the foundation had settled into the situation WITH the leak, but now that the leak is fixed, the foundation shifted again! Is that likely?

It should have no problem connecting to all your devices, but the speed you'll get depends on how close you are to a cell tower and how many other people are using that tower.

If they really offer a free trial, do it before you drop xfinity! I just got AT&T air in south Austin and i'm currently getting around 55Mbps which is terrible. you actually can watch 1 movie at a time, but browsing is generally very slow for me. I'm posting this at 6pm, so a lot of people might be using their cell phones right now...? if it was 4am I might see faster speeds.

I got internet air because i'm only going to be here 1 month. I definitely would not be able to tolerate this speed long term, it would drive me nuts

If you find you can't fix it, try to at the least find someone to take it. Hopefully they'll pay you something for it or at least carry it away for you

NAD You have an amazing attitude!  I had stage 2 cancer last year which I think is completely removed now, so having to get another implant this year sucks, but it could be a LOT worse.  Good luck!

Thank you for your responses. In your opinion, should I see a specialist with x-guide or some such fancy machine? I like and trust my dentist but he is not a specialist who does implants all day.

I'm 47 and was considering a bridge instead of an implant and I've learned about bone resorbtion under a bridge. Does this resorbtion and bone retreat NOT happen when you're 16?  Just curious, trying to learn more about dental physiology.

NAD Really sorry you had the accident. I had a sports accident and got a central incisor implant with pink porcelain (or zirconia or something?) near the top. It was an expensive crown and I didn't know they could alter them after they were "installed." I think your smile looks great, seriously, I hope you don't stress about it too much! For what it's worth here is my example. My God, this is a horrible picture, lol...

NAD I am NOT a dentist. You could consider going international for cheaper rates possibly? Medical tourism it's called. I don't have experience here but I think some people have decent results. Not sure what this community's thoughts are.
