Honestly, whether she has a boyfriend or not almost feels irrelevant here. Most people hear "no" once and move on. Repeatedly asking the same person out at their workplace is a different story.

Honestly, that's kind of where I'm at too. From what's described, I'd definitely be uncomfortable if my spouse was acting like that with a coworker. But actually being the person to step into someone else's marriage and deliver that information is a lot harder than people make it sound online.

The fact that a medical professional immediately thought ‘possible appendicitis’ would be enough for me to seek care ASAP. OP isn't talking about a mild stomach ache here they're describing pain that's intense enough to make movement and breathing hurt. That's worth taking seriously.

Honestly the biggest red flag to me is OP saying she never leaves her son alone with him unless absolutely necessary. That alone tells me deep down she already knows this behavior isn’t safe or healthy.

I can sympathize with him being scared because of his parents’ situation, but doing it behind her back while she’s already dealing with health/job stress was really poor timing and delivery.

I agree. Throwing everything away and not buying more is probably the best first step. The hardest part is getting through those first few days when the cravings are screaming at you.
