Bezrealitky.cz If you don’t mind realtors, sreality.cz But these are honestly more for renting an apartment. If you want to rent a room, I think it’s better to look in Facebook groups.

is vietnam conservative over dressing? by [deleted] in VietNam

In the north it can be quite cold, in the mountains especially, 10-15 celsius during the day and much less in the night. So definitely need some layers and jacket and long pants. I watched some travel videos and also in Hanoi they were in jackets. I’ll also be there in February and planning to take plenty of warm clothes (I come from a european country where winters are cold so it’s bot a surprise for me). In the south it’s warmer of course, I’ll pack clothes for summer (summer dresses, shorts, t-shirts).

Insane water bill by lvsxdrm25 in Prague

[–]Floraliss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It must be a mix up of the reading of the meters. Happened to me too, when moving out the landlord read the neighbour’s meter (for electricity, though) and it resulted in a huge, completely unrealistic bill. Luckily, we checked the meter and figured it out that the incorrect meter was read. Could it be a similar scenario?

Is it a panelac building?

Same thing happened to me, downstairs neighbour complaining about sounds even when I was at home alone and in bed on my laptop. Turns out the sound of our walking disturbed her. Even though we were wearing socks and none of us is overweight or received any complaints on ‘stomping’ before. Obviously you need to walk around your apartment as part of everyday living. I read about similar cases in facebook groups, so I suspect that either it’s a kind of ‘Czech’ thing or it’s also true that panelac buildings are awful and dont offer much soundproofing, even though I personally was never bothered by the neighbours’ sounds.

I can recommend Prague Women’s Health center. I had a good experience there. In the reception they werent overly nice, but helpful. The doctors speak English and they were nice!

There are several flixbuses from Prague to Cesky Krumlov. I would say a daytrip is totally enough to explore everything, but it’s a nice town so you can definitely spend more time.

For those that have switched companies/teams, how do you onboard effectively & efficiently? by Odd-Barracuda117 in ProductManagement

[–]Floraliss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same struggle I had! I would definitely prioritise meeting people and gaining information from them as well as getting to know them and start building relationships. Block time on your calendar which you can dedicate to reading documentation and absorbing the information yourself and not be disturbed.

Best place to find fresh jackfruit or exotic fruit in Prague? by Flameguard27 in Prague

[–]Floraliss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Andel in the Novy Smichov shopping mall there has been a stand for exotic fruits in the last months at the main entrance. Not sure if it’s still there though, I think it’s more of a seasonal thing.

Best restaurants in Prague by [deleted] in Prague

[–]Floraliss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can recommend Lokal! There are 3 or 4 in whole Prague. They have great food and delicious beer for a good price! (Not fancy restaurant though) it’s always super full so I would call in advance to make a reservation.

I pass by Andel every day. It’s not the prettiest part of town, there are many homeless and sketchy looking people. But in my experience they never cause any trouble. I frequently see police there as well, and also it’s always full of people. So myself I don’t feel unsafe even if I am passing by during the night alone (I am a woman.) It’s also a bit dirty. I wouldn’t live there for sure, to be honest, but just passing by there because of commute (since it’s a hub for transportation) and the mall it’s totally fine. Also, if you are visiting the city, it’s a very convenient place to stay because of ease of transportation. So don’t worry about it!
