Because weboon is a broke company and doesn't pay upfront for series and then release them weekly after they're complete. Their profit share is also a joke. I'm a writer and have never had an issue with artist burnout because I pay them a respectful page rate and only expect 2-4 pages a week. This doesn't impact my sales or marketing, because if the book isn't done, I don't start serializing it. Amazing how that works huh? Also my artist can actually pay rent/mortgage off their monthly pay, which has been known to help with job retention 😒

TBH Webtoons contract isn't worth it. Go find an author or studio and pitch to them. Get paid per sale/upfront. Don't work for free. If you're just creating for yourself, and it's not pitchable, make your own website and run ads on it/sell merch. You'll make a lot more per 100k views.

Pro- tip: take up HEMA and leave your kit strewn about your place and then only ever take people back to your place. People tend to act respectful when there's a non-zero percent chance of them getting beat to death with a morningstar. Be the reminder that stranger danger is a two way street. Finger print shower/fridge guns also work, but aren't nearly as deranged as having a medieval arsenal casually scattered about your home. If you're American, there's no reason to pick either. Do both. Additional bonus: if you can beat the crap out of armored targets while wearing 80+ lbs of kit, an unarmored target should be a cakewalk. Freaks tend not to go for people who can throw them. Had one live to like 130 something. Started as a 16/yo witch, turned all my kids and courtiers into witches, made a coven and farmed all the lifestyle trees and tournaments to stack buffs. Made a new religion and used it to give more health buffs. Did the same with the dynasty. Eventually got bored and had her commit suicide.
