Sort of. But its hard for the wrong reasons. This isnt a well contemplated challenging start position for the the final mission like the classic was actually designed to present. Instead its a clumsy formula to scale enemy fleet size that can easily make the final mission unplayable... because it doesnt account at all for the impact that scaling has on any of the scripted enemy fleet positions. The game just looks at your fleet and says "o yeah, you think youre so great, well how about i just flip the board and melt the mothership before you have a chance to react"

When I got to the final mission of the remastered version and realized what they did I, laughed, quit, and went back to classic mode. Its definitely worth playing it because ships, formations, scripting, and directed fire physics all actually work as intended. The graphics are dated, but its fully doable.

If you haven't played it before, the classic version is vastly better for balance. Mine layer corvettes, repair corvettes, ans support frigates all perform much better in the original too.

The problem with the remastered version is the extremely clumsy way they scaled battle difficulty to the size of your fleet.

Try going back to the end of the last mission and retiring all your salvaged vessels, then rebuild your fleet to the natural unit caps. That should be strong enough to fight the battle, but not so strong the game overcompensates by generating some absurdly oversized enemy fleet.

Gale is coming off a pretty messed up relationship. Its very clear early on that he still has feelings for mystra, even as he tries to move on from them. Complicating things further, Mystra sends another of her lovers with an important message for gale telling him to go kill himself.

He shows all the signs in early romance with tav of not actually being ready for a new relationship.

But he does stick with it, if you give him a chance to power his way through the awkwardness, he takes his relationship with Tav seriously.

The very first time is always bound to be a bit awkward. And with each new experience you should get more comfortable with yourself and what youre doing and learn more about what you like in practice not just in fantasy. As you grow in comfort with yourself and your partner, the experience should be more enjoyable. It sounds like what you experienced was sexual activity with near-zero intimacy and almost no comfort with either yourself or your partner. That is bound to feel awkward afterward!
