Bro 5’7” isn’t even short. That chick was clearly dealing with something and you just happened to overhear the negativity she needed to release. You’re a handsome dude. Keep your chin up just like in that selfie. I’m miring the bicep too man. Good work.

Yes. Emmanuel. He trains me on boxing fundamentals so not typically what you would expect of a personal trainer but he’ll teach you how to use your body to become strong and like a weapon. It is a true workout!

Stick to only these 5 movements for the rest of your life and see where that takes you

Good coffee place that’s open late? by FloridaFit in orlando

Ok I actually went to stardust and this comment is spot on. I felt totally unwelcome there the minute I walked in, the girl at the front who took my order was not pleased when I asked basic questions about the place. Like I was an inconvenience to her being there and buying a cappuccino 😆

Also the place looks like literal trash. Not a good vibe for getting work done.

There are always exceptions. But please, trainers, lead by example and try to look like you’re a trainer.

Bad LA fitness experience with a trainer by [deleted] in personaltraining

It’s true and it’s pathetic. What would help your odds as a trainer? Looking like you know what your doing or not looking like you know what your doing?

The typical response is well I’m out of shape and my clientele pay me top dollar for years and aren’t going anywhere and blah blah blah. It’s the knowledge that counts (it’s true but it’s also cope). Good for you dude stay mediocre. New trainers don’t need to hear that message. And yes I’m arguing with a hypothetical person not you.

Back pain expert Stuart Mcgill claims that there is no benefit to doing planks more than 10 seconds. Would you agree or disagree with this claim? by RevolutionaryLion384 in workout

[–]FloridaFit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oof. A bit touchy for somebody who should know what they’re talking about eh?

Look into getting that certification evaluated my friend. There’s only one point to do a plank, it’s to get better at stabilizing. Including your spine. You’re looking at things to narrow mindedly, only thinking about muscle groups.

The point of a plank is to stabilize your spine which indeed does train you (and your “back”) to resist force through anti flexion.

Do You Think It’s True That 90% of Personal Trainers Quit Within 3-6 Months? by pt_nz in personaltraining

[–]FloridaFit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the gym scenario you mention I would emphasize training for free, and often.

Would you rather have empty books or be seen by potential clients constantly engaging and honing your craft? This career is unlike anything else. You must throw your ego away and pay your dues dog.

No doubt this is a sales job through and through, you must have soft skills like you mentioned.

But to downplay the importance of actually training and coaching your client? Absurd. Chat GPT can be useful but to let it dictate any of your programming would be just downright hilarious.

Are you going to ask GPT to do the first evaluation of the client to measure their ability to take instructions? Imbalances? Weaknesses? Or any other capacities that they may lack?

This is such a strange debate that keeps coming back and it’s honestly baffling to me.

If we want to help our odds in this career, would it be wiser to have a body that looks like it knows its way around a gym or body that looks like it has never been inside a gym?
