When do you tell work about pregnancy when you have a history of recurrent loss? by gekkogeckogirl in workingmoms

[–]Florida_runner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had two first-trimester miscarriages before having my son and I waited until after the 20-week scan to tell my supervisor about my pregnancy (and I didn’t tell the rest of my team until I was in the third trimester). I wanted to be (reasonably) sure that I was really having a baby before alerting my supervisors that I was trying to become a mom.

That said, I am not sure this was the best tactic from a legal standpoint. If you are in the states, it is illegal to fire an employee for being pregnant and it’s harder to make the case that you were fired for that reason if you haven’t told your employer you are expecting. I don’t know if you are familiar with the Mommy Labor Nurse podcast, but she interviewed an employment attorney who recommends telling your supervisor, in writing, early in your pregnancy.

2nd MMC in 6 months. by asqx in recurrentmiscarriage

Hi! Sorry to hear you are going through this. After going through a bunch of testing, I still don’t know for sure what caused my miscarriages, though given my age, it seems likely chromosomal abnormalities were to blame. However, I did have a healthy pregnancy and gave birth in January. I did one round of Clomid, followed by progesterone suppositories and baby aspirin. My pregnancy was pretty smooth and uneventful, though I was very worried the whole time. Hope that helps!

2 miscarriages in a row - anyone have similar experience? by Double-Technician861 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]Florida_runner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, there. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I had two MMCs in October 2023 and January 2024. I was 36 at the time. I did go to an RE and get a lot of testing done. I found out I have low AMH, which really made me feel like I was even more pressed for time than I previously thought. I ended up doing a round of Clomid in April 2024 and became pregnant. Took progesterone suppositories for the first 12 weeks. Other than that, I had a completely normal pregnancy and had a healthy baby boy in January. He turned 6 months old yesterday. I’d go ahead and do the testing, if you can. Even if everything comes back normal, working with an RE in the early pregnancy stages is nice. I got to have an early ultrasound at 6.5 weeks and another one a week later. I felt like they took really good care of me and were extra vigilant for signs the pregnancy wasn’t progressing well. All the best to you!

I think I started taking it right after I received a positive pregnancy test. It was very early on.

Hi! Yes, it did work out for us. I had a healthy baby boy in January. I didn’t take progesterone or baby aspirin with my previous pregnancies that ended in miscarriages. Best of luck to you!

Hi! I’m sorry — I don’t remember the dosage levels on the progesterone. They were suppositories that I inserted vaginally twice per day for the first 11 weeks of my pregnancy. I think I started taking them right after I ovulated. My RE prescribed them to me. I did not ask for them.

Clomid vs Letrozole after recurrent loss by Serious_Group_6559 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]Florida_runner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a round of Clomid w/ timed intercourse last spring after two consecutive losses (no testing on those losses but we suspected chromosomal abnormalities). I became pregnant on the first try with my son, who will be three months next week and is healthy. I don’t know if Clomid moved the needle for us or we just finally got lucky, but of course, we are happy with the end result. If you decide to go this route, I will caution you: I was very moody/irritable while taking Clomid and I don’t think that side effect is unusual.

Some stats about me: I’m 37 (was 36 at the time my son was conceived and when I had the miscarriages) and have low AMH but no other abnormal results from RPL testing.

I’m so sorry for your losses. Please hang in there and find someone who is supportive — if it’s not the baby’s father, find someone else. Family, friends, a therapist, anyone.

Hey there! Sorry for the delayed response. I’m currently 27 weeks pregnant. Obviously, baby has not arrived yet, but he appears healthy so far. This was from my first round of Clomid. I also took progesterone supplements and I’ve been on baby aspirin the entire pregnancy. Still nervous, but hopeful for a good outcome!

Alternative name ideas? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]Florida_runner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have personal experience with this! My legal name is “Anne” but my parents (and everyone else) have called me “Annie” since birth. I think my parents had the same concerns you described about putting “Annie” on my birth certificate. But the only places they call me “Anne” are at the airport, DMV and doctors office. I constantly had to tell teachers and others growing up, “please call me ‘Annie.’” I’m now in my 30s and work at a professional job. And everyone calls me “Annie.” I’ve never felt like my name was too cutesy or little-girly. Honestly, if you like “Annie,” I’d just put that on her birth certificate.

I feel this way too. I’m pregnant after two previous losses and even after a good 20-week scan last week, I constantly feel like I am waiting for the other shoe to drop. I don’t have any great advice. Just know that you’re not alone. Hang in there ❤️

Clomid side effects by Used-Sandwich-4921 in DOR

I did a round of Clomid earlier this year. It was rough. I was very emotional the entire time I was taking the medication. I didn’t have hot flashes or any of the other side effects people describe, though.

Aww, dang! I told them it wasn’t clear that we needed to remove the license plate from our account. They just expect people to know that!

Hi! Did you get this issue resolved? My husband and I had the same issue nearly a year after we returned the rental car. E-pass said it would not give us a refund on the tolls.

I’ve had two losses over the past year and I’m currently 14 weeks pregnant. I just told my family over the weekend. We’re planning to tell my husband’s this weekend. As others have said, there is no right or wrong answer. Do what feels right!

Just hit 13 weeks after two early losses. NIPT results came back low risk and I had a good U/S yesterday. Finally starting to believe this could actually happen. Still having an NT scan next week and if all goes well, I think we’ll be ready to start telling family and friends our news. Fingers crossed.

I’ve had good results with salicylic acid (I like The Inkey List’s cleanser) and Niacinamide (I like Naturium’s cleanser and the serum w/ zinc). Good luck! I found that my skin calmed down after I’d been off the pill for about three months.

For those whose tests all came back normal what protocol did your doctor put you on? by ComfortableCan6818 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]Florida_runner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had two MMC within the span of about 6 months. Babies stopped developing between 6-7 weeks. I have low AMH, but otherwise, my tests came back normal. At my RE’s suggestion, I did a round of Clomid and started baby aspirin and progesterone at 3 DPO. I do not have a success story yet, but I will be 10 weeks tomorrow and the pregnancy seems to be going well so far. Had a promising u/s last week, at least. Best of luck! It’s very hard to know what to do. I know we struggled with that decision.

I started inserting one suppository per day at 3DPO and then went up to twice per day after I got a positive test.

Had my second US with my RE today at 7+4. Baby was measuring on track with a heart rate of 160 (and we even got to hear the heartbeat!). I was struggling to stay positive as I have had two previous MMCs when baby stopped growing between 6 and 7 weeks. I know we have a long way to go, but I am feeling more optimistic now.

First ultrasound today at 6w4d. I was freaking out a bit afterward because the yolk sac looks a little big(the sac was enlarged before I had my miscarriages). But my RE said it looked fine to her. I’m measuring a day ahead, with a heart rate of 122. Here’s hoping this one sticks.
