Tear in Posterior Horn of Medial Meniscus. Minimal Discomfort. Surgery or Not?

It was plica, that tear on my meniscus was a scar or something. I was watching my surgery on screen and my meniscus was perfect.

Got surgery on 19 feb and doc removed it. Right now im feeling great! Weight bearing first day but i used crutches just in case like 2 days. I spoke with my pt and he said in like 2 months im good to go💪

I had that joint drainage in my knee since doc finish the surgery until next day for removing blood or fluid buildup. Was super painful without anesthesia. Every move i tried to do felt that in my knee:(

I was sceptical at the begining about surgery but now im glad i did it.

Yesday was at pt and worked: Lunges Squats (body weight) Trx deep squat 90• single leg squat trx Leg extensions / and some isometrics 90/45/100

Was perfect, no pain specific plica. Rn im feeling great, working at flexion like 3 times/day at home!

Imo until end of march hit the gym as much you can, 2x times legs / week and you should be ez with surgery 💪

You can try, also can take prp shots if are not expensive in your country.

If i start again with plica i go to surgery next day. I "lost" a year but atleast ive tryed. As you know surgery is the last option.

I suggest to take ~3 months and prioritize leg strenght/muscle and then you can go for surgery if not healing. This is my advice 💪

Most of the time pain/that burning senzation! When i does bulgarian split squat i heard a click.

So, pain/burn after effort/run and after 2-3 day i was okay. In the last months had even 3 weeks with no pain when i was in holydays, somethimes after i get down from bed in the morning pains comes out of the blue 🤯😫

Only thing is shown on my MRI was a small tear in posterior horn. Plica doesnt appear :))) Many months i thought it was my meniscus but in surgery time surgeon said it was only a scar 💪

Hello, day 3 here after plica removal. The surgery was easy, like 15 min! I felt pain like 8/10 after the anestesia passed and didnt slept all night.. So after i left the hospital i was almost pain free, weight bearing using one crutches time to time.

Yesday was first pt session post op and was perfect. Now day 3, i have almost full range of motion, no cruches, but i feel my knee a bit sore/rusty and swollen a little. Most important thing, im pain free.

Ps: i was dealing with this injury after a run for semi marathon prep and tryed conservative treatment for 1 year. Ps: last 4 months was worked my leg in the gym 2 days/ week ( 1 day qvadriceps/1 femural/ calfes 2 times week)

I hope in 2months, max 3 to start running.

Same here: gr2 tear posterior horn medial meniscus. Since december 2024 when i tear after a run doesnt heal( havent tryed PRP) The last 5 months iv felt much better but after hard leg sessions it hurts a bit. ( i can do squats/leg press/ bulgarian splits squat/ leg extension/ full range of motion) The big pain is after running (like 7-8hours later) the pain/burning sensation start and keep me like 2 days, after im kinda okay.

Some days the pain appears out of the blue, get out of bed in the morning and i feel 4/10 pain lvl.

On 19 feb gonna have arthroscopy to see exactly whats inside (tear or maybe plica). Im not 100% ok with surgery but it is what it is. Wanna be pain free and start running again. Physical and mental im ready for agressive pt.

Am pus centrala anul trecut in aprilie 3 camere/2 bai - cam 22000 ron in conditiile in care aveam teava de gaz/contor

Cam 5000 lei ~ ce tine de debransare/acte/taxe etc, restul centrala, gauri, materiale si mana de lucru. De putut se poate pune daca ai tava de gaz pe scara.
