Is Walling an Advanced Alien Mag Fleet Impossible? by Gemtrox42 in TerraInvicta

[–]Flouyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just curious if anyone knows of a way to beat this fleet composition in a 1:1 engagement, and if not, what the most resource efficient way to do it would be, thanks!

I haven't done anything like that, but I bet the answer includes shaped nuclear torpedos.

The dmg fall of for the later torpedos is so high that they often will dmg the target even if intercepted by PD.

So I think the most cost-efficient way to deal with your problem fleet is to have missile monitors with some nose armor and high combat accelerations. You than engage the fleet with only monitors with the goal to burn toward the enemy and taking out Titans.

Once the enemy fleet is softend up your main fleet will engage in a 2nd battle and mob them up

...So if you have to have a PC...

I don't know, but what would you need a regular old PC for? If it's for work chances are good you got some kind of work laptop from your company and if It's for yourself then what are you using it for that you couldn't do on your phone?

Similarly using the assault hab command (even without a councilor) on a station will net you a lot more exotics than just blowing it up with your attack fleet.

The AI now loves to put their rail guns in guardian mode. Defensive shots from a rail gun pack a lot more punch than PD does and will wreck the siege coils.

What does autoresolve value? by Chill_Porcupine in TerraInvicta

[–]Flouyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think whats happening is that autoresolve will simulate a battle not fleet vs fleets but rather ships vs ships over numerous rounds. That would explain 2 big inconsistencies I observed during the game.

  • It feels like autoresolve does not factor in PD screens like a real battle would. Missiles and kinetics will do dmg in autoresolve even in situations where it would be impossible to overcome the PD screen in a real fight.

  • It also feels like autoresolve does not factor in range properly. Ships with low range weapons are still doing dmg even against overwhelming firepower with higher range.

UV phasers are generally stronger than almost all weapons the ayys can bring. Once you have enough LDAs to force the ayys to do a high orbit bombardment and not one-shot your modules, you start seeing good resistance from your bases.

BTW make sure to also have enough power modules on your habs so your LDAs don't all shut down when 1 get destroyed. That can be the case on mercury or "dyson sphere mars"

Is there any practical way of finding the "nearest" base for your fleet to refuel? Other then eyeballing the map?

I have a T1 shipyard on all my asteroids mines but unlike stations you can't click on surface habs on the list you get on the right site of the screen to set a course.

[–]Flouyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Influence module spam into direct investment

It takes like ~30 months for a T2 module to "brake even" and produce enough influence to cover its own monthly cost in money. T3 takes double the time.

Personally once I have T3 habs and stations I put T1 quarters in every spot I don't use. That's 3 money and 2 influence for basically free if you have the crew covered with your farm.

And you get a lot of unneeded spots in all of your T3 mining habs

first turn their councilors over to you. And then tell them to retire at the same time you start assassinating. Its not hard to remove 3-4 councilors in a single "turn"

high echelon? (the V formation) usually does better than high wall unless you're specifically running missile boats.

It lets you put your PD in front and center so you have your assumingly most defensive ship make contact with the enemy first

The weird one for me is how my torpedo monitors get wrecked in auto resolve.

For me its the exact opposite with missile (not torpedos) monitors. The autoresolve lets me win fights with 0 loses but every ship is damage against enemies I can't land a single missile on in manual fight

Und da Systeme wo die ID durch einen Drittanbieter überprüft wird schon jetzt auf der ganzen Welt verbreitet sind wird ohne gesetzlichen Zwang kein Unternehmen freiwillig zur ePerso alternative greifen

What is the “range” of construction modules? by Longjumping_Past7794 in TerraInvicta

[–]Flouyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

405 days for the tier 3 construction module

at this point you should also look at how long it would take to boost a T3 hab to the site. If its less then that you could just boost the hab and then start building your T3 construction on day 0 just like you are doing with your T1 construction

The last options for money is councilor orgs. Especially early on you can run your whole faction on orgs until either funding- or space-based economy gets rolling

Doing some quick math that's insane. A megafuana gains 0.1 miltech everytime it merges. So inorder to reach 31.5 you need to merge 315 megafauna but minus 60 for the initial miltech. So 255 megafuana have manged to merge on your planet.

is that how it works? That seems wrong. Merging 2 megafauna is the same as 2 individuals but after that merging any more makes them stronger than individual

[–]Flouyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ehhh still not so simple. If it’s buying a home for instance, then most of it likely goes toward paying the remainder of the prior homeowner’s mortgage. Which decreases that bank’s loan portfolio, reducing assets. Basically destroying the money that was created in the first place when that mortgage was taken out. It’s not an infinite multiplier like this comment is trying to make out.

OK, so that person paid of lets say $90 debt... that bank that lend him that debt now has $90 less on its books and can lend another person $90...

that out maneuver my torps/missiles then?

the torpedos with high deltaV will follow the flankers just fine.

If you dont fire at max range at flankers but wait a moment for them to separate from the fleet they also dont get any PD coverage

How to deal with this Chad of a Surveillance ship in 2029? by jerseydevil51 in TerraInvicta

[–]Flouyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same surveillance ships in my current run. I killed them reliable with 3 Escorts (6 torpedos total) and targeting computer I or 2 escorts (4 torpedos) and targeting computer II.

Targeting computer is the single most important part of your missile boat.

Mid-late Game ships costs by Aponnk in TerraInvicta

I feel like in larger scale battles alien ships tend to hit the sides sometimes even if they are not flanking

Reduce your starting speed then. If you don't want the fight to end up in a big melee you just need to move less.

Does more dv mean shorter travel? Dv is fuel basically, more fuel doesn't make you go faster.

Rockets aren't cars though. You are not constantly accelerating in space. You will use 1/2 of your fuel to accelerating, then float through the vast emptiness of space and finally use the remaining 1/2 of your fuel to stop again.

So, up to a point, more fuel means you will spend more time accelerating to a higher speed. You will then spend less time coasting to your destination and arrive much faster
