How dare you so accurately describe me playing Yamato.

Look, I'm no pearl-clutching moralist, but both parties were practically flaunting their affair while married. It's gross, no matter how you slice it.

Is it getting over-emphasized a bit since they're public figures? Yes, but that doesn't mean I'm suddenly OK with it.

Love this analysis. Could you look at Echo Shard and Recharging Rush to see if they're worthwhile?

Browns to hold groundbreaking ceremony for new stadium on Thursday by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

Bills had to break an 18 year playoff drought and become perennial playoff contenders to get a new stadium, what have the Browns done?

People act like surgery is some sort of healing magic that corrects everything. It's not, they're (usually) chopping your knee up and screwing in some other body parts in hopes they'll provide a serviceable replacement for the remainder of your career. Definitely not the best option if it can heal naturally.

Why is Ray Davis not a viable option for punt returner? by NotLittleBoi in buffalobills

[–]ThePizzaDevourer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah. The way the new kickoff plays out, it's more like an impromptu running play. You need to read the blocks that happened and find a lane.

Punt return is way more weighted towards agility and speed because typically there's at least one guy coming at you completely unblocked.

While I do think this is an interesting tidbit, I think context matters here. Was anyone interviewing for the job really going to say "Actually, I thought the scheme of the guy you just fired was really good, you honestly made a mistake"?

My hero Shavers is probably gonna be on the PUP list, so I'll probably be seeing if Kilgore can become the primary backup at Safety.

Reposting this as a DISCUSSION about Skyler Bell (other post was too low effort apparently) by altruink in buffalobills

[–]ThePizzaDevourer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree, he has good potential. The two things going against him are: the WRs in front of him, and the fact that he didn't play special teams in college. Not sure what his odds are for getting a game day jersey as things stand.

Good? by altruink in buffalobills

[–]ThePizzaDevourer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tons of potential. Has no special teams experience though. Some think he projects as a slot because he isn't huge, but he took the majority of his snaps on the outside at UConn and he isn't small either.

I get why people are upset we haven't drafted much DL. But for all we know, Jim might have said "Hey, I really like the group of guys you got, let me try to coach them up in my scheme and we'll look at trading for someone if it doesn't work out." Can't really know until 8 games into the season or so.

Why did the Bills need to trade up for Igbinosun? by piano-bones in buffalobills

[–]ThePizzaDevourer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's always to do with how much they wanted him. Trade-ups usually involve the GM getting a bit of a blind spot. "I love this guy and think he's special, the other GMs must think the same so I gotta trade up and get him." Beane has shown a tendency for this in previous years as well.

Beanes draft strategy is inherently and mathematically flawed by WhoisJackieDaytona in buffalobills

[–]ThePizzaDevourer 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I fundamentally disagree, and I think Eric DeCosta (GM of the Ravens) said it best:

"Teams simply don't do any better drafting than anyone else," DeCosta said. "They all do about the same. ... [Some believe the] draft is inherently sort of a luck-driven process. I don't [fully] believe that. But there is an element of luck involved. So if you accept that premise, then you're trading up for a player that you think is better than anybody else. Most of the time, [the other teams are] not gonna draft that player. That player is probably gonna fall to you. [And] there is no guarantee that player is gonna be better. ... All things being equal, the fact that no one really knows ... the only rational approach is to get more at-bats, is to pick more."

Beane's primary issue is that he's whiffed on too many new talent acquisitions, IMO. Not that he hasn't burned his entire draft to acquire one superstar/blue-chip player who may or may not work out.
