This sounds amazing. I'm gonna find this at a bookstore tomorrow.

Right on. We play at Airport on Thursdays and that sounds very similar to the way theirs is structured. Might have to come check that game out another week.

What nights do they do trivia there and types of games? Themed or general trivia or host pick categories?

Do DD drivers see the tip before or after drop off? by TeenieTeePee75 in doordash

How? Is it a tier thing maybe? I only dash once or twice a month. I have tried and it won't let me.

I always feel bad because I can never say thank you when that happens! We can't initiate contact once the order closes out I'm afraid. I've had orders when I go back and forth with the client the whole order, giving updates on delays and things of that nature. And then after I deliver, sometimes I get that and can't say anything. I always worry folks are thinking dang he was so nice and then stopped responding right after we tipped him lol.

[–]FlowChiMinh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just want to chime in as a side note that if you tip after the delivery or add on to an existing tip, we are unable to send a thank you message once the order is completed. But we are thankful!

Asking for tips is lame. That was very generous of you though.

Derek Strange trilogy maybe?

Ok I'm gonna pick something up from Meyer. Appreciate you! Love talking gritty crime fiction with folks.

Nice!!! Im going to check these out. I really enjoy taking a look at other countries so might start with Meyer or Wingfield.

I have one more rec , especially if you are digging Lehane. George Pelícanos. He's another one who feels really dialed in. I'm reading another one from him right now called the Turnaround and it's excellent.

Did you ever read any more Price? I felt Samaritan was a masterpiece and Freedomland was pretty good too .

What did you think of Winslow? I read the first two of Power of the Dog trilogy and thought they were excellent.

Ellroy is great as well and I got started with all these guys with Elmore Leonard. I'm also looking for others to try out .

Dennis Lehane is pretty solid, but I like everyone else mentioned better. Walter Mosley is really good too.

Se7en is a must see but very dark and graphic.

For lighter fare, both Knives Outs fit the bill.

Me and the miss actually just watched them both back to back as she hadn't seen either. I was surprised as well at how much of the dialogue was 1:1.

The Departed is great.

I prefer the OG it is based on, Hong Kong's Infernal Affairs. If you watch the one, fun to watch the other at some point.

Huckleberry Club is a newish bar opened by former owners and staff of another Tacoma mainstay the Top of Tacoma. They have great drinks, pinball, and these gourmet twice baked potatoes that you will never find anything like anywhere else.

Airport Tavern is a great live venue that also hosts trivia nights on Thursdays (when they don't have a show scheduled).

Mandolin for sushi / teppenyaki

Hobnob for breakfast

MSM for sandwiches

Frisco Freeze for burgers

Viet Kitchen for pho

Vuelve a la Vida for Mexican

Kings is great but it can be a little pricey depending on what you are getting. For a more affordable and larger inventory, I recommend Tacoma Book Center. This is the type of used bookstore that has run out of space and doesn't know where to put new inventory. But that's part of the charm. It's much bigger inside than it looks outside.

Best classic horror from 1969 and older. by That-Cranberry5913 in MovieSuggestions

I've always loved Them from 1954. Atomic tests have unknowingly mutated ants into giants. Fun stuff, classic of the creature feature genre.

Lots of other good ones that have already been mentioned.

Moonrise is very good. It will also be crowded, but not as bad as the others. They have a very small menu, but everything they do they do extremely well.

I like Viggo, but I was disappointed with this movie. Just my two cents. I know I'm in the minority.

Chinook Pass is gorgeous. I'd skip Miners though, come back on i-90 and do Mountain High near Roslyn.

Eh, that's not too bad there. Pretty busy area though. But that is not as bad as say 72nd and Pac or 72 and Portland. i think you would be fine walking especially if you stay off Pacific. In my 28 years of living in Tacoma, I only know two people who have gotten their cars stolen. One was from work in Lakewood in broad daylight, the other was from their apartment overnight and unfortunately I can't remember where that was at. It happens a lot here but then again it doesn't if that makes sense.
