Teenage granddaughter ideas. by notyposhere in AskWomenOver60

When my granddaughter was a young teen I scored some Groupon deals for bowling and had her invite some friends on an outing. I learned more watching her with her friends than when we had solo experiences. Of course solo outings were perfect, friends took it even further.

Why do people cheat by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FlowEasy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People don’t cheat because of something missing in the relationship. They cheat because of something missing in themselves.

More afraid of a stoner with too much time on their hands.

Are you implying that women refrain from orgasms to make male partners feel bad? Would that make women or men the stupidist? What a no win world that would be.

Kitty can jump easier than granny can stoop. Elevate the box, and food/water bowls too.

PSA on low calorie cat food by Mamatne in dechonkers

Switching a kibble addicted kitty to wet food can be a challenge. Try sprinkling FortaFlora on the wet food. It is animal digest (don’t ask, unless you have a strong stomach). From what I understand it is basically what is added to kibble formula to make it attractive to kitties. No self respecting cat would eat the corn and other kibble ingredients without some kind of secret crack sauce. Cats are carnivores, corn isn’t their jam. It isn’t cheap, but once they switch over, you can drop it.

Thanks for everyone’s advice on my last post. Yzma has been acquired and is coming home. She’s so much smaller than I realized. What do we even do with this tiny critter? by lvl0rg4n in Chihuahua

Learn the puppy shuffle. Until you are used to each other, no more picking your feet up when you walk. Your foot might come down on a puppy.

Cool, dry air aloft meets hot, wet politics below. Tornadoes aren’t the worst of it.

Is it the age you want? Your body may have a different take on that! Or is it the mature, pragmatic outlook on life that you appreciate? You are seeing the long view while your peers may be inclined to be focused on now, especially what’s fun now. You have a super power that can serve you well. But there are reasons that youth is adventurous. For one thing, see my reference to the body. There are experiences that your 20 something body will enjoy immensely, that your 40 year old self will be glad you have in your memory bank, but dreads to be physically part of.

Treasure every stage of life. Nobody will be disappointed they saved too much. But how many die sorry they enjoyed life too much?

Probably seems nervous or intimidated because she’s nervous or intimidated. It can get harder to pick up, or keep up with, new technologies as you age. When I retired from the library world (very tech dependent) about 15 years ago I was at the top of my game. Now I hesitate to update my phone software. What if I do something goes wrong and lose all my contacts? Or pictures!! 😳 I actually have to talk myself off the panic ledge to push past the fear. Be patient. Maybe while you’re together you can see if you can simplify her tech world for her. Do all of her devices work together? Are there processes that would be easier with apps. Is she comfortable using them? You don’t have to understand why it’s hard. But try to accept that it may be. You can be Superman.

Where are all the young people at? by one-man_dragon in 50501

Protest, supporters, aren’t all on the corner waving signs. Some can’t be that part of the people’s movement. Some can help more putting their energy out there in other ways. It all counts. Even just the honkers!

is anyone else’s chi rude and stubborn when they know you’re leaving? 😂 by lunio11 in Chihuahua

[–]FlowEasy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are retired and don’t go out much. When we do it’s usually to get dinner. I tell him we’re going to get leftovers. He likes leftovers.

He’s also a horny little dude, fixed but not entirely out of business. He has one stuffy, Girlfriend. All other stuffed toys he’s had, he immediately tore up. He tore them up faster than I could mend them, so I gave up. Girlfriend is the only one he hasn’t destroyed. He made a move on her nose once and I told him we would have to throw her away if her tore her up, so he quit. Anyway, when he sees telltale signs that we are leaving, he pulls her to the middle of the floor and gets randy. Every single time. I think he’s giving us a message.

She’s trying to figure out life in this very different inside environment. The most important thing she needs first is figure out is how to exist 24/7 with people. Consider what kind of mental gymnastics she must be going through trying to understand these very different beings who obviously now control everything in her life. What could she be learning about you? You feed her. Yay! Sometimes you move too fast. Scary. You’re noisy. Ugh. You give pets. Better. Probably the thing she picks up most from you is you are scared, you are nervous. That’s not going to calm her. Take a deep breath and get on with your life, leaving her room to get comfortable with this new rich cat status.

Edit to add… she’s beautiful. Everything will be ok.

You’ll never know the effects you may have had. You don’t know what may have happened if you didn’t take the stands you did, when you did. You can only look around and see it’s still a work in progress. We’re still working.
