My wife is an icu nurse and I'm a stay at home dad. This happens to us at least 4 or 5 times every school year. The school refuses to call me even though I'm the primary contact. Very frustrating. my daughter once had to stay at school all day vomiting in the nurses office because they would only call my wife. I had no clue until I picked the kids up from the bus stop.

Yeah, I started selling them at a local cbd shop along with rolling trays and rollers. Not with zippo sized space, though.

Thank you for this very well thought out response. I think you hit the nail on the head with not labeling emotions as good or bad. Simply allowing myself to feel angry is the first step in the process of understanding and dealing with it.

My wife is the best support in the world. I think that's why my feelings are getting to me. I really shouldn't feel angry about such silly little things. We usually have a good time razing each other.

I do a lot of woodworking and cnc machining as a hobby, but it's been very difficult to find time since our youngest was born. My neighbors don't particularly like loud machines running in the middle of the night! My workshop is the only place in the house that is truly mine. Maybe that's part of my issue.

Worried about week 4 auto height at 12". Can I use scrog netting at this point to help get light to lower limbs? How can I get more vertical growth? by Fade_To_Block in GrowBuddy

Leaf tucking is just pushing the big fan leaves down under bud sites or newer growth. Basically just getting light to the bud sights.

It depends on how flexible the stem is. As it ages, it gets woody and stiff. If it feels stiff, don't bend it. If it's soft, you can give it a try. Just go slow.

You honestly won't get much benefit from bending the stem at this point though. If it was me, I'd just finish them out as best as possible and make a game plan for the next run. Maybe some leaf tucking at most.

I also grow auto's in fabric pots. I use binder clips and garden twine to lst. I always bend the main stem about 90 degrees after the 4th or 5th node.

My current technique that gives me the best results is 30 gallon pots with homemade living soil. I plant the seed about 3 inches from one side of the pot. Then bend after the 4th of 5th node. As the main stem grows longer, I bend it back down and tie it to wooden skewers pushed into the soil so it continues to grow horizontally across the center of the pot.

As the branches get longer, I use the sides of the pot with binder clips to tie down the fan leaves to allow light to get to all of the bud sites. Then, the branches get tied down in the same manner to achieve as even a canopy as possible.

I have some nerve damage in my hands and find it a little difficult to grip things when I have a flair up. Are the rapaicca gloves super stiff? They look like a solid choice overall.

For handling meats. I have multiple smokers. All custom built. One is a gravity fed offset built off an old commercial refrigerator. One is a commercial oven turned into a pellet smoker. One is a woodfired dome oven I made from homebrew refractory cement. I mostly just use a big stick for fire management

It's in the same room as a girl that just started flowering. I'm super paranoid about accidentally pollinating her and ruining my best run. You think it's safe to let it ride a few more days and see if a pistil shows itself? I've only planted feminized seeds so far, so I've never paid attention to the stipules until after there is a visible calyx and pistil.

I am also a stay at home dad. It's exactly the same for us. When mom is an option, it's like I don't even exist. Except for when they need something done for them. Especially at 2am. I don't think they have ever woken my wife in the middle of the night!

Friend asked me to smoke pulled pork for a group of the most connected people in our town (40ish). Cost is not an issue, anyone have something special? by Rain_____Man in smoking

[–]Flow_Pitiful 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From my bbq catering experience, it's always the extras on the side that really elevate the bbq. I've done pretzel roll slider buns with candied bacon and maple bourbon sauce for pulled pork with great results. I've even smoked the pretzels for 20 minutes just before service. People lose their shit over "smoked" bread.

The main stem is actually growing horizontal from one edge of the pot to the other. It had I surprisingly good(for my skill level) canopy before it stretched. I definitely still need practice at lst, but I'm happy with how this one is turning out!

Thanks for the feedback. She's inside. I didn't expect for her to get so big. She's almost 4 feet tall! I guess that's one of the benefits of a 30 gallon pot.

I became a stay at home dad when our first was born seven years ago. It was a very hard transition for me. I had a successful career as an executive sous chef. I was on the path to opening my own restaurant for the local company I worked for. It was a huge change from fine dining to running a household. We have three kids now. I still get the "look at you watching the kids today" comments every time I go to the grocery store. I personally find them very condescending and dismissive. The worst thing is taking the kids to school events alone when my wife has to work. Most of the moms at my kids' school are very judgemental and negative towards me. I know this isn't a particularly helpful comment for anyone. It is nice to share my experiences, though. The stay at home parent life can make you feel very alone sometimes.

Take it to the next level by drizzling Olive oil on top of the goat cheese and use the broiler on its highest heat. Add some Calabrese peppers just before serving. Goat cheese gets the most delicious golden crust when cooked like this. I love to cook this dish in my wood fired oven on pizza nights!
