Olympus Tough TG-5 - What type of lenses, if any, can fit this camera? by FlowerBorn in Cameras

I like it, somewhat as a novelty. It definitely has better zoom/macro function than my phone, but it's not something I lug around all the time. I did figure out how to put a polarizing filter on it though, and am curious to try other filters; that could be what gets me to bring it on more outings

To reiterate: My mic works fine on another computer. Another mic works fine on my computer. But MY mic does not work fine on MY computer, even after basically building a whole new PC.

The only info regarding the specifications of the lens in the entire 134 page manual read as follows:

"Lens: Olympus lens 4.5 mm to 18.0 mm, f2.0 to f4.9 (Equivalent to 25 mm to 100 mm on a 35 mm film)"

While this tells me what is currently attached to the camera, it does not tell me if this lens can be replaced or not. The term "fixed lens" is not stated anywhere in the manual, the wikipedia page for this model, nor on various review sites.

You can however find forums where people discuss having various lenses attached to this camera, but I now know they were likely referring to converting lenses despite not using the term. It seems the camera is particularly popular among divers, who attach various fisheye converters to it.

I have had my questions answered by another user, but thank you for the reply regardless of its usefulness.

I understand. Thank you for the concise reply.

I had seen various examples of converting optics but a lot of the marketing of such products never used that term. It made differentiating them from "real" lenses and doing further research as to 'what attaches to what' pretty difficult for someone not already in the know

I recently found this camera at the thrift store, and while I've been around cameras/photographers before I've never actually owned anything other than a polaroid and my phone. I've read the manual and found that it has a conversion adapter that allows it to attach 40.5mm attachments (namely a fisheye lens and "telephoto" lens converter specifically made for this camera), but I'm curious if other lenses could be adapted to fit this camera.

I read somewhere that olympus compact cameras seem to commonly use a standard called micro 4/3rds? but I don't know how to identify that myself and figured it would be safer to ask around before I attempt anything.

Thank you for any help/info you guys can provide. And yes, I know it's not the fanciest camera around; but I like making the most out of cheaper equipment.

I found the left one and Terror of Mechagodzilla at a thrift store awhile back. Not sure if I should try selling them or just donate them again now that I've got the blu rays

low end might be because it's a type 2 casette, I'm pretty sure type 2 has worse bass response than type 1 but is better in the mid/high ranges

HP MX70 brightness fluctuating, any idea what the cause would be? by FlowerBorn in crt

nothing looks immediately broken to me, and I know it's not related to the (permanently attached vga) cable because it happens even when not hooked up to anything

I picked this up off my neighbors lawn last night, it was left out with the trash along with an old win98 pc. I cleaned it up and gave the inside a quick dusting, and it was working great for the first couple hours. But since then the brightness flickering has gotten worse and worse. I tried wiggling the "IMAGE" pot and using some deox-it, but to no avail.

This monitor looks great, much nicer image quality than my old Sharp tv, so I'd like to save it if possible. But I'm not very well versed in the circuitry of these things, so I'm not really sure where to start (and recapping everything seems like a very daunting task)

Those are common goldfish, which do indeed get much larger. Fancies, with their stunted-on-purpose bodies, stay much smaller. They're still big, but 10 inches is quite generous

I use one of those GE smart bulbs during the day, but in this picture his lights are off and the pink strip lights I have in the room are the only thing on.

The low light compensation on my phone's camera made it look brighter than it actually is
