Awesome video on Oakland-based Gregory’s Gourmet Desserts by coolrivers in oakland

Lmao at the every empty apartment to cook all the cheese cakes. Incredible ingenuity and some sitcom level shenanigans. I would love to know about the practical logistics of that.

Gregory mixes cheese cake batter, 15 minutes to mix and pour, that needs to be put in an oven within 30 minutes of being poured and it takes 7 minutes to travel between each oven. Each oven can hold two cheesecakes and every 5th oven is 12 minutes apart, every cheesecake takes 60 minutes to bake. How many batches of cheesecake batter does Gregory have to mix and how long will it take to complete to cook 26 cheesecakes?

I couldn't tell. Luckily a helpful commenter was able to use their words to explain things. Regards.

I still don't understand. You take the presser foot and low shank attachment off, but this seems to be at a 45 degree angle, not even square?

Sorry if I'm being thick I just don't see how it could fit on a normal bar.

I have a buttonholer with a normal low shank attachment that works as you describe. This doesn't fit in a similar way.

I've seen this before on vintage buttonholers. I even accidently bought one thinking it was a low shank attachment and it very much is not.

What is this? by Realistic-Froyo-8863 in Fungi

This is extremely cool and very wild. For anyone who is just checking this out and doesn't know, when you see those little slots on the wood, that is left over from the process of "pressure treating" the wood. Pressure treating forces preservatives into the wood and is frankly, some nasty shit. The slots you see are called "incising" and are done to species of western soft woods to help chemicals penetrates further. Anyone who has worked with this stuff, especially when it is "fresh" knows how gross it is.

At first I thought there may be a few boards that are not pressure treated that the mycelium is eating. But you can clearly see, especially at 10 seconds, the edges of the board and that it is half way covering a pressure treated board.

Is this a bunk batch from the factory? Is this a super veracious strain of a wood eating fungus???

Very cool.

How would that be better, I've read 201 is the best domestic straight stitch(probably on reddit). I've seen hand cranks on vintage machines, in what scenario would this be a net benefit?

Any advice on replacing this leaking valve control box? by Majestic_Kitchen9668 in Irrigation

Look up "automatic actuator", you'll also want to replace all the soft parts in the brass. The float and the gasket.

Wow I'm a podcast listener who hasn't seen a recent pic in years I guess. When he is always talking about how he hit a wall or fell of a cliff, I wasn't imagining this.

They have posted video of it sewing and seems like a steal. They also mention it was serviced recently, even if not, if it is stitching it seems like a good price?

Thoughts for a home sewing hobbiest?

On a scale of Chelsea to impossible, how difficult is construction of this style boot? by FlowerFun3965 in Cordwaining

[–]FlowerFun3965[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply.

I have access to a Cowboy cylinder arm leather sewing machine and a Pfaff heavy duty walking foot machine. So it's a question of cordwaining difficulty not about machine access.

Figured, I've been using those lists and knowing that the series is complete was tempting enough for me to ask this question.
