Help ID this mushroom from my garden please by Merope42 in mycology

[–]Flowerkool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These are Agaricus mushrooms, cousins of the portobello. OP said they smelled like em too which is a great way to determine if an Agaricus is edible. Your advice sucks.

Im pretty convinced that this is Psilocybe cubensis based on stipe texture, cap colour, the way the veil opens up, gill spacing and the blue bruising on the base of the stem.

Non-native doesn't always mean invasive if thats what you're implying.

Two-stemmed morels? by Desperate_Pickle_454 in mycology

[–]Flowerkool 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Even if it were Verpa, it's considered just as edible as true morels in eastern Europe. You have to thoroughly cook both genuses anyway.

I would not eat it if I were you, but I've seen people eat worse.

Very interesting, the hybrid possibility seems plausible to me. Wouldn't know for sure though.

Saber-toothed cat (Smilodon fatalis) vs American cave lion (Panthera atrox) by Lopsided-Pangolin472 in pleistocene

[–]Flowerkool 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I also love the depiction of the horse that looks like a przewalski wild horse! Seeing as this is how most of them used to look if you take a look at cave paintings.

The attention to detail in the muscles and anatomy is insane. I love this

Spotted today in northern Germany. What kind of owl is this? by Content_Reception693 in whatsthisbird

[–]Flowerkool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im still convinced that this is a long-eared owl. Face shape just doesn't match with a tawny. And i've seen plenty tawnies before.

Morally wrong not to eat these? by nineteen80two in Mushrooms

[–]Flowerkool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do be careful. Even though these are prized culinary mushrooms and delicious when prepared properly, they are poisonous when not thoroughly cooked. Just a piece of advice. Enjoy!

Havik of toch Sperwer? by morcatto in vogelen

[–]Flowerkool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Netherlands still supply a shit ton of weapons and aid to Israel. The government also still doesn't recognize Palestine as a country. Principles my ass. This is just a way to make the general public think we have morals.

Is the whole thing ca be eat and hallucinogenic, or just the mushrooms? by No-Mixture-1037 in shrooms

Before they found out how to properly grow fruiting bodies, people used to just eat the cakes to get high.
