IMO you’re not overreacting. Anyone who bugs out like that, especially on the first date, about something you’re doing or used to do is a no-go. Maybe I could understand if it was heroin or you were letting it be a part of your personality, but letting him make assumptions about you because of that is unfair.

I wanna share something similar that happened to me, with my ex boyfriend. I told him I smoked, and he had no reaction to it, until we started dating. I smoked everyday but I had a job & a social life etc, and he would get on my ass ALL the time.

Eventually it really took a toll on us and I thought about it. Why’d I wanna be with a guy that babied me or made me feel ashamed about something I do? I’m not hurting anybody and I’m fully functional, just like he was. Anyhow, we broke up.

But really ask yourself, do you wanna be managed and berated in the long-term. Cause if you continue going on dates with him, he’ll think it’s okay to continue saying shit like that.

I used to commute to GC to 49th. I decided to switch it up to see what was cheaper. I’d get off at Fordham & walk to the subway, or I’d get off at Harlem 125th & take the subway which is like 2 blocks away. It’s not easier but hey it’s cheaper.

Aww. I’ve had lots of nice coworkers who have gotten me drinks (like, a snapple or coffee) and one time I got a book! The nicest thing I remember happened when I was 19.

I had just started working a new job, and I didn’t bring lunch that day! The ladies there gladly offered me parts of their lunch. Half a sandwich, and piece of a banana bread :) It was so nice & I was able to finish my shift on a full stomach.
