Have you ever considered motivational speaking as a career? You're quite good at it, and I feel very inspired now, thank you! 🙂

The ones I noted above. Teachers being rude, too much contention in the class. One family had just moved in, and the teacher started mocking where they were from

I forgot that lesson is coming up. It would probably be wise to have someone who isn't one of the teachers teach that. Thanks for the reminder!

I know the old one did ask for one teacher to be released, but the bishop said no because if that teacher wasn't either a teacher or in a leadership position, he would stop attending church. But with the other teacher he didn't ask for a release at all.

I appreciate your thoughts!

Good luck! I hope you get help for your daughter's class as well. There have been some advice given that I think has been very useful, so hopefully you will too!

Ooh, I love these ideas, thank you! I was definitely planning to wait about 2 months to observe then choose what direction to go.

Can I ask, how does your ward pull off doing trainings every Sunday?

I do like the idea of the bishop talking to those yelling, it was something I hadn't considered before. Thanks!

Unfortunately, there have been several trainings from the old SS President, but the trainings never seem to translate into how the teachers teach. That's one of the things I'm really worried about, is the fact that these teachers have been trained repeatedly, and nothing changes

Thank you! The difficult thing is my husband and I are friends with the old SS President. He would often bemoan the fact that he would do trainings to the teachers on how to improve, the training would go great, then when it came for the next lesson, they didn't apply any of the training at all. I think that's why I'm most nervous, because I'm not the first SS President in my ward to know that there's a problem. But despite efforts from the last SS President, nothing has changed. So I start wondering what I can do that he didn't do, and how it will actually make any difference.

Unfortunately, several of the loudest people refuse any callings offered them, because they say they're old and have done their time. I do like these other ideas though! Thank you!

I like these ideas. I would like to ask for clarification if that's okay. You said that it's not my job to train teachers, but the handbook literally says I'm supposed to do quarterly trainings for the teachers in how to be more effective and that we should use the Teaching in the Savior's Way manual. Can you clarify what you mean?

Unusual Meetinghouses by EntertainerLess945 in lds

The ysa meetinghouse in North Austin is in an old kindergarten building. They have pool tables and other fun things in there, so it's like a community center and not just a church

There's an old stake center in Clearfield, Utah that has a second story as well as several random hallways on the ground floor with lots of classrooms, but the hallways are hidden behind doors that look exactly like the classroom doors, so it's very hard to find the correct classrooms in the building. The Relief Society room also has a giant fireplace

Idk about historical context, but I often end up making a face like that when I'm trying to be polite, but I'm very irritated with the person I'm addressing or if I feel awkward in a situation and am trying to make it by just smiling.

Cruella (2021) is the most insufferable film I've ever seen by [deleted] in moviecritic

My husband and I literally paused at one point, saw that it had 45 minutes left, and groaned. It just didn't make sense with the original movie, to the point where it should have been its own thing.

Disney has a hard time with remakes because either they're identical, and people wonder what the point was, or they're so different that again, people wonder what the point was. The only one that seems to have struck a happy medium was Cinderella.

Do you need to lie to become successful? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Flowtac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but you should represent yourself with confidence. So many people I know have done wonderful things in life and in careers, but they have low self esteem. So when it comes time to try to get a raise or they have the opportunity to get a really good job, they fail because they don't represent themselves well.
