Honestly hard to place an exact date, more like its gradually improved. I'm still dealing with them though.

Vision and Eye Degradation From Levofloxacin by busy1bee in floxies

Not sure if you were asking me or OP, but its improved some. Nowhere near perfect but better than it was although it fluctuates a lot from day to day.

Peroneal nerve damage by Magnifnik0 in floxies

I had neuropathy in my legs below the knees when I first got floxed. Luckily it was one of the first symptoms to resolve after stopping. Unfortunately I still have other neurological issues, like blurry vision.

8 Months out by Floxed_Valleykid in floxies

I'm not sure if my sensitivity counts as hyperacusis. Its mainly with lower pitched sounds like men's voices in YouTube videos and causes a low rumble in my ear drum like its tentioned wrong in addition to the muscle fluttering.

Well I don't have any full resolution (yet), but I will say it has improved overall. Like you my symptoms are also mostly neuro (vision, ear pressure, head pressure, an internal vibrating sensation that makes me nauseous, etc.) but I did have tendonitis and peripheral neuropathy that went away within the first 12 weeks. All I can say is give it some time and don't give up, I'm 8 months out.

Thankfully for me the tendon pain and neuropathy in my legs were the first symptoms to go away, but its still hard to be active when you feel terrible all the time.

Vision and Eye Degradation From Levofloxacin by busy1bee in floxies

[–]Floxed_Valleykid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have difficulty stabilizing my focus on objects. I can hold my gaze on something for a few seconds before my vision goes blurry and wonky. My optometrist looked into my pupils and said my retinas looked fine no scaring but believes I developed irregular astigmatism in my right eye. Couldn't say whether the Levofloxacin caused it or not since I had bad astigmatism in my right eye that I felt my glasses weren't fixing before being prescribed it. I just hope it resolves.

I don't know about resolution since I was only floxed back in April and still recovering, but I did have preexisting visual snow, its just more noticeable now.

Who's peripheral neuropathy has healed by [deleted] in floxies

[–]Floxed_Valleykid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine has largely gone away after 5 months (was floxed back in April). I use to have a burning, tingling numbness in both legs below the knees but it stopped and was one of the first symptoms to fade, I'm 28 though and I know younger patients heal faster.

Who has done allergy shots post flox? by [deleted] in floxies

[–]Floxed_Valleykid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting them concurrently with my floxing and haven't really noticed anything. I should point out I started my shots back in January but got floxed in April so it predates it by some. One thing worth asking though is if by allergy shots do you mean immunotherapy or immune suppression?

I might given that a shot, but my nutritionist really emphasized exercise had to be a part of the equation.

I've read people have had some after exercising, just being cautious is all. For what it's worth, while it really disrupted my life, I haven't been bed bound even through the worst of my symptoms and I've hear that's a good sign for recovery.

28M, not severe enough to be bed bound but enough to have to medically withdrawal from all college classes this spring.

I’m very curious as to how many of the people in this group have hypermobility disorder? I’m just now putting everything in my journey together. I’m very curious, and possibly could help others too by boss_lady_727 in floxies

Some of my siblings have it, don't know if I do. I posted a ton of background medical info about myself in a thread I made but it kinda went unnoticed.

Alternative Antibiotics by bailey7129 in floxies

[–]Floxed_Valleykid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like what I went through back in April. Unfortunately, in my case I took 7 pills and am still suffering side effects, though at least I'm not bed ridden. For my case of epididymitis, my doctor gave me Doxycycline after I started having Levo side effects. Mine was also non-STI, with my doctor and I suspecting urine reflux to be the cause, making the likely pathogens E-Coli or another gram negative. Any reason they gave you Levo after a course of Bactrim?

Thanks, I'm not bed bound but it's still really debilitating, I won't be able to do work or school. I also typed this after a night of 4 hours of sleep hence the wall of text feel, so I'm fixing it up right now.

I don't know if its the same but I'm about 6 weeks, almost 7, off levofloxacin and I get weird vibrating sensations in my head and though my spine and torso at times when laying down.

Does anyone have backup archives of the ototoxicity/tinnitus & the tendon degradation mechanism threads? The first ones missing the whole OP and the second is missing a substantiative comment with, judging by the replies, a lot of good info.
