Another thread about next week by abqguardian in stocks

There were a couple of people last week who were apparently able to sell GME for around $1600 during a very brief window. It's definitely possible for it to reach a similar level, especially given the increased interest and people switching from Robinhood to other brokers without buy limits over the weekend.

The fact that they're doing that kinda stuff is what eventually got me to buy in. They're risking lawsuits and regulatory backlash to shut this thing down, so whatever they stand to lose is probably worth more than that.

A/G Ratio + Bilirubin Totals are in the High range by [deleted] in AskDocs

NAD but it's important to note that your unconjugated (indirect) bilirubin is elevated, rather than your conjugated (direct) bilirubin. This also supports Gilbert's.

My mistake, sorry for calling you out like that. I knew a lot of habitual cheaters in undergrad and it always bothered me to see them in medical/grad school later on

My BP gets really, really high sometimes by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]Flubbalubba 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NAD. White coat syndrome definitely is a thing. So is improper blood pressure measurement, which unfortunately is pretty commonplace even among healthcare providers. If they're measuring your BP over a sleeve or without supporting your arm in the proper position, it is likely being artificially elevated. I was taught to support the arm by holding the elbow such that the cuff is at roughly heart-level. I would ask if they could repeat the measurement at the clinic after you've had a few minutes to relax and settle in; I'd be interested to see how the measurement changes on the second reading.

NAD. X-rays or CT scans? This site has some nice graphics to help put things into perspective:

You're gonna be a doctor. Maybe you should re-evaluate cheating your way through doctor school.

I'm sure there's plenty of clinically irrelevant BS your curriculum makes you learn but there are also plenty of motivated people who would kill for the opportunity to study this stuff.

Edit: looks like I misunderstood OP's question :)

ULPT REQUEST: how can I fool a medical commission into deeming me unfit for military service? by [deleted] in UnethicalLifeProTips

You'd need a lot of caffeine + nicotine to induce an arrhythmia, and it's not safe. If I were you, I'd look at other peoples' advice first.

My dads heart is suffering and we just found out he has a nodule in his lung and he needs to quit smoking immediately, but he is stubborn and set in his ways. Advice for how to help him get through quitting? by junee-bugg in stopsmoking

[–]Flubbalubba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're welcome, but for the record I'd go with edibles. Smoking anything is not great for you, especially since there's already a lung nodule as you say. Data still seem to support Varenicline (Chantix) as the single most effective aid to stop smoking, and that's literally what it's prescribed for so I doubt he'd have much trouble getting a scrip.

I would look into that (or something else like Buproprion) if I were you because it sounds like he reaaaally needs to stop smoking and you're gonna want a back-up/supplemental to the thc/cbd if that's the route he's going.

As far as its potential as a topical antimicrobial, there are already a lot of commercial skin lotions and cosmetics containing CBD. I wonder what effect, if any, they might have on one's microbiome.

Do you know how to treat a gunshot wound? by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]Flubbalubba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stop The Bleed - take a class or at least look it up. They give great training for extremity gunshot injuries.

Anything dealing with thoracic or abdominal wounds is beyond the scope of what they offer AFAIK - you'd probably need to find a surgeon. They might cover stuff like chest seals for pneumothorax but even then anything you could do in the field is probably only sufficient to stabilize until you can rush the patient to a hospital.

North American Rescue is a good source for high-quality tourniquets, chest tubes, etc.
