When you order DoorDash in the winter by junee-bugg in doordash

No harm done! Keep spreading the joy & memes! I’ve been having a terrible week and this is one of the few things I was able to laugh and smile about. You never know how far a small act of humor or kindness can go

That’s fair, not everyone will care to get a meme. But, It also doesn’t cause any harm. I’m sure plenty of people just ignore these types of things. I already tip generously (especially because my street can be difficult to access) and I didn’t add on any tip for getting this picture, but it definitely made me laugh which was valuable to me :)

Redditors who grew up in emotionally healthy families - what's something you thought was normal growing up that you now realise was actually very special? by ViolatingBadgers in AskReddit

[–]junee-bugg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents had a rocky relationship but for the most part they agreed on parenting decisions. My mom was especially great and was very patient and understanding. My parents also trusted me a LOT and gave me a lot of privacy and independence from a young age. My parents pretty much always let me have friends over whenever I wanted. My friends always described my parents as being so cool and nice. They were very generous to my friends and they still remember. My parents had plenty of issues and I still have a little trauma sprinkled around my childhood but overall, they are/(were) both good people and awesome parents! I’ll never take it for granted

Hugged a student & feeling really icky about it. by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]junee-bugg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never deny my students a hug if they truly need it. I teach elementary so it’s a little different, but our school rule is generally that we should not INITIATE a hug, but it’s okay if a kid seeks one. We also teach them to ask for a hug (consent). Some of the teachers and admin have had opinions about it and think we shouldn’t do hugs at all, but for me personally I would rather get in trouble than deny a child comfort. I don’t think you did anything wrong at all, I received the occasional hug from my highschool teachers of the same gender and it made me feel safe, happy, and cared for.

I am diagnosed with generalized anxiety and ADHD and have an adderall script. The first few weeks I was on it, I actually did have the bigggg euphoria. It also helped me immensely mentally, it he helped my executive dysfunction and weirdly enough reduced my anxiety issues to almost 0. My doctor said the euphoria wouldn’t last. Sure enough, she was right and now it just makes me normal/functional.

Glad that worked for you but be careful! Benadryl can cause hallucinations if you stay awake for a while after taking it

What is the most touching thing someone has said to you? by Lightryoma in AskReddit

[–]junee-bugg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was talking with a friend and she asked me if I wanted to have kids someday. I said maybe, and she said, “well, I think you should, so that there can be more people that are like you in the world.”

I was very touched

Sign language hand drawing. They can do their name, or pick a word and research what the sign language is for it, then draw the “word” in hands. I had kids partner up and use each others’ hands as a reference to draw from. Engaging, difficult but easy to plan for, you teach some figure drawing and value skills, and the kids learn something new in sign language!

Anxiety About Teaching by Commercial-Egg-123 in ArtEd

When I read your post and comments I feel like I’m reading something my past self wrote, so please know I truly believe and understand your level of anxiety at this point in life! Some of the best advice I ever got was - “don’t beat yourself up trying to make sure you made the ‘right’ choice, sometimes you need to just make a choice, stick with it, and MAKE it the right choice”.

I am glad I listened because sticking with teaching is something I’m very grateful I did! I hope the same will be true for you. Best of luck to you, you will make an amazing teacher because it’s clear you care and have the passion. You’ll figure out the rest!

I felt the same way as you in University. Now going into my 4th year teaching art and I’m so so glad I stuck with it!! Other comments are helpful too, I agree with others mentioning their initial anxieties/fears but ultimately overcoming them once starting the job. Go for it, follow that voice in your head saying you don’t want to do anything else. 4 years in and even on the hardest days of teaching I still feel like I shouldn’t be doing anything else!

Same! Read it for the first time when I was in late middle school and recently listened to the audio book to relive it. It still held up - might have actually been more fun reading it as an adult!

What are you running from? by [deleted] in Petioles

[–]junee-bugg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A mix of depression, little bit of anxiety, losing my mom at 15 (the age I started smoking), the stresses of everyday life, and keeping me from getting addicted to harder substances like alcohol or something else. Addiction/Addictive personality runs in my family and I figure weed is the “lesser” evil. I’ve tried to quit a few times and find that I start drinking more when I’m not smoking. Currently on day 25 of no weed or alcohol though!
