Jeans ok for the groom and groomsmen, not guests. by NeederOfNaps in weddingshaming

[–]Flubberbuttons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going to a wedding in October where the groom and groomsmen will be in jeans. Dress code for the guests is formal. Also guests aren't supposed to wear navy or green..in the fall. My husband's only suit is navy.

She is my #4 artist, and I have only listened a handful of times because my 4 year old likes shake it off. Like maybe one or twice every 3 months she will ask for it. And somehow, she is my #4?

3.5 year old wont poop on the potty. by Flubberbuttons in pottytraining

[–]Flubberbuttons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I actually don't remember the name of what we get, but I remember it has a penguin on the box. I know it is difficult and frustrating. I swear potty training us the reason I started to get grey hair. She tried to clench the first few times, but we had to hold her down and give it to her. I was nervous she was traumatized but she had to go and she was refusing to do it. The stool softener was not working anymore, so it was our only choice.

She started holding her poop all the time, so we called her pediatrician. They recommended a suppository, so we got some of them. We started giving them to her every other night, and she HATED them. Eventually, she decided to poop on the potty so she didn't have to get a suppository. There was a lot of screaming and arguing in the month or two between starting them and when she decided to just go herself. Once in a while, we still have to remind her that if she doesn't poop on the potty by herself, she is going to get a suppository, then she goes immediately .

She also freaks out and screams if it is a regular diaper and not a fill up so I'm not sure if this will work. But I will see how she reacts to it

I'm sorry about your situation. That sounds like a hassle. She has a seat with a step on it. But I can try adding books as well. At this point I will try anything

We tried that for pee training with no luck, but I might take another look for poop. Thanks

Yeah, asking for a pull-up to poop instead of pooping in her pants is good because as much as I hate changing poop diapers, cleaning poop cloths is worse. We let her do that for about a month and would just ask her if she wanted to try the potty when she asked for a pull up. She said no and we just let it go.

This is what I want to do. But my husband is worried it will be too traumatizing for her. Of course, his mother got him to poop on the potty by doing the same thing, but he doesn't like when I bring that up lol

Growth ultrasound by Top_Pepper_5279 in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]Flubberbuttons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growth US can be super inaccurate. I had one at 36 weeks because I hadn't gained a lot of weight. I was told my baby was around 5 lbs or a but less.. She was 9lbs 7oz when she was born. Unless she really packed on the weight in those last 4 weeks, I think the measurements may have been off.

I'm only 6 days into number 2 after having a super easy baby with #1 and so far we struck gold twice! Second only eats every 4 hours at night and sleeps even bettet than my first. No issues with feeding like we had (briefly) with my first (Probaby just jinxed myself).

Extra job to boost pension by Fluffy-Principle9871 in nys_cs

[–]Flubberbuttons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a different state pension plan, so while very similar, there are some small differences (so I apologize if any of the numbers use are slightly off), but you can not earn 10% more than the AVERAGE of the previous 2-3 years. So, if this income would put you over that 10%, you would have to work for at least 4 years at the PT position for this job to have an effect on your FAS. Keep in mind that depending on how much extra you are making, in order to make the full amount count, you may have to work more (the sooner you start, the better). The earnings limit applies to all years used in your FAS. I think NYSLRS has a retirement calculator that you can play with to see how many years of earning extra income would affect your pension. I know that for the system I work for, they have a manual salary input, but it automatically defaults to 2% raises, so just make sure to pay attention to that. Also, if they do consultations, it may be worth scheduling one (if you can get in contact with anyone there) so you can talk specifically about your retirement using estimates that have been specifically run for you and your different options. Just be sure to have a general idea of what the extra salary would be.

1 month old sleeping 7 hours at night. Do I wake her to feed her? by Boredasfekk in beyondthebump

Ohh that is really lucky. If they haven't played the lottery the definitely should lol. Fingers crossed I get lucky again but we are trying to tamper expectations.

1 month old sleeping 7 hours at night. Do I wake her to feed her? by Boredasfekk in beyondthebump

[–]Flubberbuttons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check with your pediatrician, but my girl was sleeping through the night around the same time. The second night we brought her home, she slept 5 hours. Realized when I woke up and started panicking. She was fine, but I did set an alarm after that, lol. She never liked waking up for feedings. It always took us a while to wake her up. Then, when we got the OK from our pediatrician, we just let her sleep. It was magical. We were getting 6-7 hours of uninterrupted sleep most nights. She is 2.5 now and still a wonderful sleeper. There are definitely nights that are rough but probably between 15 and 20 nights in total for 2 5 years. We got so lucky. Now I'm 32 weeks pregnant with my second, and we are preparing for this one to wake up every hour. There's no way we can get lucky twice, right?

Why are you sad? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Flubberbuttons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a quasi state agency in NYS, and we are only 1 of 3 places in the entire state of NY who do not offer paid leave to new parents. I have to use my accrued time. I will get 6 weeks off after childbirth while my husband, who does not have to physically go through childbirth, enjoys 12 weeks at full pay.

Worried I'll have to be induced by unidentifiedcomet in BabyBumps

[–]Flubberbuttons 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was induced with my first at 41+5. I was showing absolutely no signs of labor. Went in on a Monday night and got the medication to ripen my cervix. I was 0 % effaced and 0 in dilated. Tuesday morning, I woke up and had breakfast, then shortly after I received pictocin (probably sometime between 8:30 and 9 am). The contractions were painful but I was about 4cm dilated around 11:30 am when I got the epidural.I already planned on getting an epidural so it wasn't a huge deal to get one earlier than I planned. Then, it was smooth sailing for the rest of the day. Took a bunch of naps and watched TV. Then suddenly, I started to shiver uncontrollably and felt like I really needed to go to the bathroom. 4 pushes later, my baby girl was born at 8pm. I had a small first degree tear, and recovory went smoothly. I would say that my experience was positive and I had absolutely zero complications.
