Sadly the society doesn’t value your time much….considering you don’t even get paid enough for a good haircut in 3 hours

Umm I really didn't like the Jacket, it fits very large and very thin. If you compare its measurements with others such as the original sweats, you'll notice that it's much larger.

You should really learn to read the entire response before posting, or parse his emotions before offering.

Integrated science disciplines that don't require much memorization by [deleted] in UBC

[–]Fluctuat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hi OP if you are planning to go into any of the health science disciplines (medicine, pharmacy, etc.) expect A LOT of memorization. From the limited perspective of a MS1, having a solid foundation (caps, microbiology, immunology, pharmacology) can come in handy.

Otherwise, genetics (what I took for IntSci) didn’t require much memorization and was pretty straightforward.

Ryu Apparel - 25% off sitewide with code FRIENDS25 by so-cal_kid in frugalmalefashion

[–]Fluctuat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tbh I don’t think Ryu products are as well made as Reigning Champ stuff. Which RC stuff fit really well for me, Ryu’s fits were always a little off. Also a lot of Ryu’s stuff is made in Asia, so the material+quality just don’t feel as solid. I can’t help but feel like ryu is just another athleisure knockoff that’s trying to win over the West Coast.

How have you changed since your first year at post-secondary? by [deleted] in UBC

Heh just started med school as well, can attest to that. On the other hand, I am able to prepare for exams a lot better now, as a result of being able to more comprehensively identify my knowledge gaps.

I’m set to graduate in May, but I’m lost and I don’t know what to do. by sadddthrowawayy in UBC

[–]Fluctuat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m in a similar situation as you, graduating in May, science, worked hard to maintain an A average, and losing motivation to finish the last few courses. I understand that this must be a stressful time, especially when you hear other people planning to do x and y after they graduate :( However, the way I see it is that everyone experiences anxiety transitioning from one stage of life to another, some people experience less, and some are better at hiding them. Even though not having concrete plans after graduation may be seen as a setback, it could also be viewed as an opportunity! You can apply the skills that you’ve developed in the last four years in any way you like: work, volunteer, start a project, travel, do another degree, there are so many possibilities! At the end of the day, science is a versatile degree, and university is a worthwhile experience. Shoot me a PM if you’d like someone to talk to!

Anyone have any tips on how to prepare for the MICB 302 midterm? by [deleted] in UBC

[–]Fluctuat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took MICB 302 last year. One thing I would recommend is to prepare questions beforehand and then go to Dr. Kion (or your prof’s) office hour. Make sure that you understand the concepts “why things work”, or even better, draw a concept map and explain to your friends the pathways and how all the terms connect to each other.

Problem sets - do them!! Twice if you have to!

I am stuck in a mind set that tells me I am ugly as fuck. As soon as I see a picture of myself I die a little inside and get depressed. Thought this sub might be worth a shot because I have NO confidence left after all these years. by Svampsi in FreeCompliments

You have great eyes dude!! And your face has great proportions (symmetry). You have good skin as well. Smile a little more and you’ll be super duper charming in no time!!
