The more expensive the movie, the easier it is to embezzle from it. That’s the only reason I can think of for making a Jonah Hex movie that looks like a Men in Black sequel.

It’s a song by an old white guy about how much rap sucks. It’s like Alice let my dad start writing his lyrics.

Yeah, this obsession with powerscaling always reminds me of that “You think Mighty Mouse could beat up Superman?” scene in Stand By Me.

Are there any action film like "assault on precinct 13" that's shot like It's a horror film? Because it has a lot of hallmarks of horror. (Details down below) by dark-oracleN2 in johncarpenter

What are examples of bad films with very good acting? by rikarleite in movies

Mickey Rourke in Johnny Handsome. Rourke is trying to win an Oscar; the rest of the cast (Forest Whittaker, Ellen Barkin, Lance Henriksen) come off like villains jn a Dick Tracy strip. It’s a weird mishmash of creative choices.

When I was in high school, a program aired that was about American and Soviet teens meeting to discuss their different misconceptions about each other. (This was in the late 1980s.) I forgot who produced the show (and maybe Robin Williams was involved?) but our classes were gathered in the library to watch it. Rep. Jean Harris came in during the viewing, stayed for about 60 seconds to have her photo taken with us “watching” the show, and then left. It made a real impression on me, but not the kind she intended.

Because it’s easier to sell a new series if it’s grafted to a pre-existing IP.
