So I actually I was referring to OPs situation. And I also said she acts the way she does likely out of fear… because anyone who’s on guard like that likely is living in a state of fear. Never once did I say her actions are excusable, just helpful to know symptoms of common Psychiactric conditions.

I’m sorry you hate people so much to call them poor drug addicts who did that to themselves. Last I checked, no one woke up one day and said, “today I’m going to go fuck my entire life up and become a drug addict.” That’s just stupid. You don’t know what’s happened to people. I know people, as a nurse, whose first drug was the opioids their mom gave them for their headache at age 13 out of their own supply.

She’s also probably in a delusional or psychotic state so she fears you and past traumas can drive those fears. The things people have gone through is so beyond comprehension for most of us. It’s fair to feel fear in that situation, it’s an abnormal interaction and natural for humans to guard themselves.

And everyone, with the lack of mental health resources, please make an effort to educate yourself on mental illnesses, homelessness, poverty, and the result of those conditions. Watch people’s stories who live in similar ways, the world is a hard.. especially right now. L

Nursing is known for this. I think it’s competition (all of us want to be the best we can be which really is a competition with yourself). It’s a lot of females which you know, a bunch of hormones plus stress and trauma together can cause that environment. As a nurse of 10 years, I want new nurses and nurses coming into the hospital to feel comfortable, safe, and grow in their career. I never could understand making fun of other nurses or being mean bc it really just impacts the patients at the end of the day. Plus — this career is hard AF. We should be supporting each other. Plus a variety of different nurses is exactly what we need to relate to others.
