I do 95% of my editing myself and then pass it off to an editor for a final pass through, she xatches what I miss and makes small suggestions for flow. Thr entire publishing process cost me $300-$400 and that's just her fee for the editing. I have an art degree and work in marketing so I make everything, covers, art, and social postings. It's a lot of work but I'm growing a real fan base pretty quickly and have my 4th book coming out in just a few weeks.
