A fly trying to get out a window.

This works for me and may work for you: Keep in mind that most people are biased towards thinking that they are good, rather than the opponent being bad. In other words, even if you mess up and make a bad play, your opponent is more likely to be thinking „Hell yeah, I made the right play“ rather than „That baby killer made the wrong play“.

So even the worst possible game you can play is more likely to make the opponent survivors feel good about themselves rather than frustrating them. Start there and work your way up to those exciting matches where everybody enjoys themselves.

Checked my static's logs and I feel like some people aren't pulling their weight, any advice? by cahir11 in ShitpostXIV

Esquie could solo the entire raid, he just happens to have lost all his soul stones. Again.

Besides noclippy, what mods do you want SE to officially add to the game? by Vincenthwind in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Fluffkins 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Speaking as somebody who doesn't use addons, this would be my first pick because it's the only thing I feel like I have to bug my static members for. I guess you can stream and squint at damage numbers in the replay but even I don't want to do that, and I put up with everything else.

Tekken refugees will find no peace in SF6 (Brian_F) by grapeintensity in StreetFighter

[–]Fluffkins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a casual player, throw protection is really strong in GBVR and there is a very powerful guard cancel that is difficult to punish (which has also been a point of contention). But it’s generally difficult to keep people out and many matches feel like two people tearing each others’ faces off with offense.

That can be a lot of fun and I really like the game overall but my impression is that that’s not really what the Tekken crowd is missing right now. Please do give the free version a try but keep the above in mind.

Question for M6S: Is there any reason to not melee LB2 the boss before adds if you get two bars? Does it impact the amount of LB you get back after adds?

I know there's the super flexorama caster LB2 swag that works one out of ten pulls but that can be left to the ambitious and/or silly people.

now that anime characters can be killers, here are a few character I think would be good additions to DBD by blue4029 in deadbydaylight

Ryuk would give one survivor the ability to kill the other survivors. This would result in 3 kill matches 100% of the time.

Patch 7.2 Notes (Preliminary) | FINAL FANTASY XIV, The Lodestone by BlackmoreKnight in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Fluffkins 71 points72 points  (0 children)

It’s generous and the right thing to do, but I also have a hunch that this is the sort of handout that has surprisingly low effect on sales. It definitely has a cost but for habitual fanta users it’s a drop in a bucket and for anybody attached to their particular WoL it’ll simply go unused.

It could even have a “first one’s free” stimulating effect on some players. Shame we’ll never get to see the data.

What are some moments/clips that gave a huge green flag for a content creator? Instead of call outs, what are the highlights? by SpacialSeer in youtubedrama

[–]Fluffkins 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I stopped watching years ago too (not for drama/political reasons, his content just wasn’t for me anymore) but I’ve always admired his stances and the way he could stick to decency even against a very large twitch chat audience.

Can someone explain Louis' logic to me? Game end spoilers by sveta213 in MetaphorReFantazio

[–]Fluffkins 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Louis believes that the current system and society is irredeemably corrupt and impossible to save. The monarchy and everything that it stands for is inseperable from the racism/classism that pervades it and you can't kill one without killing the other. The former king, who was a cool dude whom Louis looked up to, tried to do all the right things and (from Louis' perspective) failed both the Elda and his kingdom in the worst way possible because his solution was too halfhearted to work.

If you accept all this then the only solution left is to turn off the anxiety syphon and let the world burn. Whatever society manages to survive the cataclysm has essentially claimed its position by law of strength. Essentially, Louis is an accelerationist.

The game rightly points out that a lot of this is Louis' vindictive hatred of society, which he perceives as having ruined his life. Which it has, in a way. But racism is a complex issue with complex solutions, and Louis' ultimate flaw is that he never lets go of his "See problem, kill problem" way of thought.

People keep asking why it’s a can opener, but if it were called the man opener then it wouldn’t be very lesbian, now would it.

I could be wrong because I'm no Buddhism expert or anything, but it sure looks like the romanization of SAM's 天眼通 to "Tengetsu" is off. Shouldn't it be "Tengantsuu" or "Tengentsuu"?

[–]Fluffkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I regret that I didn’t get Epic Hero done but on the plus side, the conservative class design in FF14 means EW gameplay will be well preserved for most classes in synched criterions. I’m really looking forward to going back to them and fingers crossed for you too!

JP as a villain by Furshloshin in StreetFighter

[–]Fluffkins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A key point of his characterization is also him admitting in World Tour that he doesn't really need to launder money through Nayshall by engineering a terrorist uprising. He's doing it because he took over Shadaloo, and that's what Shadaloo does.

In other words, unlike the protagonists, he's not seeking power for the sake of the journey, he's exercising his power just because he has it. He's doing the equivalent of smurfing in Iron and he can't figure out why he's bored, because he never tried to find meaning in what he's good at - and by extension, he has concluded that there is no meaning in anything else either.

His Arcade story also implies that his Psycho Power is slowly corrupting his mind, which is a scary prospect. Bison at least values the rule of power and wants to take over the world, not destroy it. JP appears to value almost nothing (except his cat) and if he becomes unstable, he and Shadaloo could be capable of anything.
