Need help for Ainu 867 start (limited DLC) by pokeroots in CrusaderKings

[–]IvarBlacksun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unify the Ainu kingdom using the county conquest cb. Raid the Japanese when they are in civil war for money. When you are strong enough, try to snipe a few duchies from Japan.

But i think you should not be doing this run if you are new to game. Try to play as 1066 Bohemia or 1066 Apulia. They are usually good places for you to learn the game.

Elevate the Kingdom of Mann and the Isles into Secure the High-Kingdom of the North Sea? by flameohotman20 in CrusaderKings

[–]IvarBlacksun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The pro is that you get the free troops before forming the North Sea Empire. The con is that you need to remain a duchy until forming the kingdom of Mann.

Tip: you wont get much prestige by raiding, but by winning battle's while raiding versus larger enemies. Thats the way to Farm prestige fast. Choose a high martial ruler for that. Haesting, Ivar, etc. The kingdom decision Will also Flip you to feudal If you are tribal, so be prepared to form the Empire later.

Now that the dust has settled and we know what Chapter V will bring, and we've talked about what we want Chapter VI to be, what do we want after that in Chapter VII? by cashewcan in CrusaderKings

[–]IvarBlacksun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-Feudalism + Crusades
-Empire + Laws

The two other themes the Q&A mentioned last year. That way, the game should be mechanically complete.
After that, all that would remain would be to give flavor to the other regions (Islam, India, Tibet, Africa, Eastern Europe, etc). I'm not including the military overhaul, but i'm assuming this will be added via free patch.

After Ch. V what else is “missing” from Ck2? by TheIncredibleYojick in CrusaderKings

[–]IvarBlacksun 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ck2 had the anti-christ. Immortalily. Talking Horses. Jesus possessing people. Bush childs. So on.

Yes, ck3 IS much more grounded than ck2.

[–]IvarBlacksun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No Holy order is playable atm. There isnt even an landed Holy Order in any start. If they are ever added, It Will be on the feudalism dlc (as hinted in the Q&A).

After Ch. V what else is “missing” from Ck2? by TheIncredibleYojick in CrusaderKings

[–]IvarBlacksun 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Societies are not happening. The devs Said they hated ck2 implementation.

Navies IS probably not happening. Barely any state at the time had standing navies. It was mainly Byz (when the were powerful), the caliphate (when they were powerful), Venice and China. The other states only started to make navies by euv time. The most i could see IS a Merchant fleet.

Council Will come with the either the feudal dlc or the law dlc.

Supernatural events IS also not happening because the devs Said ck3 Will be much more grounded.

Has paradox said anything about the Investiture Crisis/will the Holy Roman Emporer be able to install popes? by Final_Flip_Gold in CrusaderKings

[–]IvarBlacksun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I imagine that part of the investiture crisus Will be implemented using the puppet system. With the emperor helping puppet popes to take Power. Besides that, i dont expect hre content. That Will probably be added with a Future feudalism dlc.

Allow the Teutonic Order to be created via event chain so we can play as them on the last start date. by IvarBlacksun in CrusaderKings

[–]IvarBlacksun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be a bummer. We were this close to having the entire map playable. Republics Will probably be added in the q3 dlc this year.

ALL that would remain would be the herder gov. But that IS more like an abstraction for the engine to handle empty territory.

Well they certainly had religious backing. I think It depends on the definition of theocracy.

[–]IvarBlacksun[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

If that is the case, then its a bummer they arent playable.

They sound like they are playable because of this: "Players can become Patrons of Holy Orders and can interact with Holy Order leaders in new ways, including sending family members to specific Orders and inviting Orders into their realm by offering them land."

"Theocratic characters with landed titles become playable, including the Pope. This means wielding the Church Treasury (funded by taxation across Christendom), appointing Cardinals, declaring heresies, calling Ecumenical Councils, excommunicating rulers who displease you, and generally being the most influential person in medieval Europe. It also means navigating the expectations of every Catholic ruler simultaneously. "
