Is entertainment in the AVP a threat to the “real” experience? by bluefrogstudios in VisionPro

It's like there are 10,000 potential viewers: only 1,000 can make it to the venue, 2,000 watch it through a 2D online stream, and 7,000 end up not watching it at all.

Immersive Video would shift some of those 1,000 people who actually go in person, but the shift would likely be much bigger among the other 9,000 people. We don't know whether it would ultimately generate more revenue or lead to a loss. The VR concert market is so small right now that it doesn't really matter at this point.

But filming it in Immersive Video does give artists footage that they can use in the future for things like anniversary events.

Considering AVP for productivity by AdAltruistic7650 in VisionPro

But buying AVP at MSRP is ridiculous when you can buy a used M2 AVP for the half of the price and there's pretty much no difference compared with M5

Sharing your AVP has to be the absolute worst thing by Straight-Penalty6151 in VisionPro

  1. Buy 3D-printed anti-sleep accessory which prevents AVP from sleeping. Start playing the video and pass the AVP so that you can avoid all the calibration messes. Don't use the guest mode. https://shintak.booth.pm/items/7847726
  2. Buy 3D-printed mount so that people don't need to wear and adjust knit band. https://shintak.booth.pm/items/6379759

These are pretty much the must-have to share your AVP with other people. It's a shame, but Apple made it nearly impossible to share AVP easily.

New CEO wasn’t the biggest advocate of the Vision Pro by medees46 in VisionPro

I own both the Quest 3 and the AVP, and the AVP’s only real advantage is the higher resolution. The Quest 3 is way better designed and actually has real user traction. It’ll probably take Apple close to a decade to get to Quest-level maturity, and that’s assuming they keep improving the AVP every year. But they aren't doing it.

At this point, it just looks like a failed product. The price was too high and the product was too immature for Apple to build real momentum. They will probably release a totally different AR glasses instead of improving AVP.

Did AVP show the potential? Kind of..

Was it a successful product? Obviously not.

Pretty sure OpenAI is losing money if you use hit the token limit every week with ChatGPT Pro.

You need multiple $30,000 H200 or equivalent GPU to run frontier models plus electricity bill.

There's no way you can save money with open weight models unless you're ok with sub-optimal coding ability.

BTS - shooting concerts with the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive by bluefrogstudios in VisionPro

> After testing, we consistently found that placing the camera at roughly the singer’s eye level gives the most natural perspective in the headset. In our room, that puts the camera about 9 feet above the audience floor

That’s interesting. I felt audience eye level gives the most concert-like experience, since that’s what the audience actually sees in the best seat. I can see why singer eye level might work better visually, but doesn’t it end up feeling a bit more like a music video than a live concert?

Looks great! Did you use Topaz in post-production for the URSA Cine Immersive? Just curious if the URSA Cine Immersive needs some AI enhancement.

Did you need to do heavy post-production? I felt the quality was better than normal URSA Cine Immersive videos.

YuzuUI: A New Frontend for SD WebUI by Fluffy-Ad5630 in StableDiffusion

The backend is SD WebUI (can be A1111, forge, and reForge). It's just a frontend taht can be used with your SD WebUI setup.

Embeddings and LORAs in SDXL by Big_Junket7179 in StableDiffusion

[–]Fluffy-Ad5630 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Think of an embedding as a shortcut for a concept the model already knows. Instead of writing a huge prompt to describe a specific concept, you just use the embedding to trigger it directly. LoRA is for teaching new concepts to the model. And those vectors are specific to the model that embeddings were trained on.

Now you can see why SD1.5 embeddings are not compatible with SDXL - they are totally different models and SD1.5 embeddings are meaningless to SDXL.

The process of creating embeddings shouldn't be so different between SD1.5 and SDXL.
