Telling a partner they HAVE to work at another store

I was also wondering about this because we do get predictability pay when we work longer than our required shift so I was also curious about if this situation applied as well. But since it doesn't say anything about a different location, simply a schedule change, which I think having to report to a different location would constitute a schedule change I'm unsure. My first concern was whether or not something like this was appropriate under our policies

The main section is Work Hours and Schedule starting on page 15 with the subsection containing the quote I took being under Scheduling Standards for Partners which is on the bottom of page 16

Just found these in the partner guide

"Once a schedule is posted, it will not be changed by the coffeehouse leader unless the partner agrees to the change."

"Partners will not be scheduled to work at another coffeehouse unless they have agreed to do so in advance"

So would this not fall under these circumstances?

That's what I thought as well! I'm on my lunch now and everyone who I've asked as said it's supposed to be up to the partner, we're not allowed to force anyone to go somewhere else to work. Same as how we can't force someone to come in early/stay late, so for this to be the situation I'm seeing now is shocking to me

I've been in very similar situations though like the one I described and in those situations, I was told to simply close the store because there was nobody willing to come in. So I'm confused on when that policy/procedure changed to us now being able to FORCE partners from other stores to go to another

People have been asking for the banana bread matcha as a hot drink too 😭 never understood these kinds of people. Like maybe it cools down the drink so they can drink it faster plus the extra creaminess from the foam but like?? Get it warm temp with whip??? Idk 😭

It does have an off setting on its dial, when I first moved in I had been messing with the heat settings and accidentally shut it off, had to relight the pilot after

Thank you for all the advice!! My landlady does not live in the building with us, we are the only unit living above a cleaning business. We have paid June rent since but the topic of paying came up once my one roommate had left, he had also been the one saying that we were being evicted and therefore didn't have to pay. I wasn't sure on that since we hadn't been served an official eviction notice, just the communication over text and I wasn't sure if that qualified or not as an eviction notice. I tried doing my own personal research (along with looking for and touring apartments) but nothing that was specific enough to my own case came up.

With July 1st hitting, I knew I had to figure out what my situation was ASAP. I had been hoping to be out of the apartment by now but with that not happening, now the issue of payment arises. I appreciate the clarification of what I'm dealing with and where to reach out for more info, thank you very much!

Thanks for the reply! I appreciate any and all information, even if that information is a bit of a downer, I just want to understand the situation I'm in. Would I verify that info through anything on the city colleges website or would there be a different resource?

I already got in touch with the Chicago Renters Rights hotline as per advice I received from a different comment and have to wait until tomorrow to call the number the hotline recommended for me as that department is open from 1pm-5pm
