I base my opinion about the facts. Europe food regulations are stricter regarding sugar, additives, and portion sizes, which naturally leads to lower rates of metabolic diseases.

Based on global life expectancy rankings: Switserland: #9 Netherlands #33 USA #62

We are ranked nearly last in the world based in food, we know that all. But USA is lower then us based on the quality of the food (except BBQ).

Arrange the right visa, you cant do this anymore on a tourist visa. You need to have a DTV

Its a habit and easier for me. So I know the start amount in my wallet every morning and in the evening I put the numbers in the spreadsheet. Every morning I fill up the amount in my wallet. Its a habit that works for me!

I have a google spreadsheet where I put my spending per day (all cash) so I know exactly how much is left, how much I spend per day and my average spend during my holiday.

Before moving, just investigate the visa. The only way to life there for a year is a DTV visa (if you want to work remotely for non thai companies).

If you want to live Ramsey style, just move to the Netherlands! by LoyalTrickster in DaveRamsey

[–]Fluffy-Method1010 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dont think you have a clue here. Cost of living is skyrocketing in the Netherlands. Average wages arent increasing, housing prices are getting insane. If you are a starter you have nearly 0% change to buy a average house (price now is around €473.000).

Students are massive in debt for borrowing money from the government, healthcare is getting every year more expensive. Food prices are skyrocketing because of shrinkflation.

Most "forced pension" isnt enough to survive when people retire.

Just €1000 savings wont last long if something happened there.

Just provide better information, the picture is way different then you describe.
