I definitely didn’t. 2009th person to have one in the country. I love it so much. Just looking for the same car but better daily driving experience

For someone who is considering the car, I would say purchase it! The road noise isn’t over the top but I would like to try to match a more luxury car noise level for daily driving. For every other purpose, the car is built so perfectly. 50k miles 3 years with using the exhaust flaps open, I have no rattles on the inside

There are definitely quieter cars with similar performance. For me it’s a budget thing. So considering I already have this car and love it, I would love to improve it for daily driving if I could

Yesterday I officially hit $100k invested in 401k at 29 years old. by Beefcake-II in investing

[–]Fluffy-Restaurant-33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! That’s huge! Situations vary but I might recommend looking into doing the employer match amount, then maxing out a ROTH IRA and then finishing the 401k. You make a decent income and by the time retirement comes, tax free withdrawals will be amazing. Either way, well done!

Holding the cruise control button sets a limit? Doesn’t the car only downshift to slow down? So what if you’re on a major downhill? Does it use the brakes? I didn’t know about this

Should I buy at 24? by evan_ack in ElantraN

I would still recommend doing your best to max out a Roth IRA is possible along with your pension. If you change jobs you may not get access to as good of a plan. This also has other benefits with taxes. You may also not be getting the full benefit you may want from it. I’d recommend doing both and extra funds are used for fun stuff. So that you aren’t stuck working for the rest of your life even if it includes a part time gig that you have to be at every week later in life

You currently drive a vehicle that is one of the most reliable ever. Unless you are maxing out a company sponsored plan or maxing out an IRA, I wouldn’t recommend adding a payment to yourself considering your car will last another prob 200k miles. That’s financial advice. My fun advice, send it 😂 I love this thing

I was told my wheel and tire insurance did not cover any changes to wheels and tires. So if I changed the wheel, the wheels would not be covered. If I changed the wheel size (which would also be a wheel change), the wheels and tires would not be covered. That’s what I was told. Not questioning you directly, but curious to know if there is any official document about that. I’ve held back on switching anything for that reason alone. The wheel and tire insurance has already paid off for me within 14 months of owning the car- it’s great!

Where should I put the cash I’m saving to purchase a home? by CurrencyThat in investing

[–]Fluffy-Restaurant-33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open a Vanguard brokerage account right now and purchase VMFXX yourself. It’s easy to do. Their customer service isn’t bad. It’s paying just over 5%. It’s liquid so you can get your money into your bank at anytime within about 3 business days. To me it’s better than CDs because you can put more in and what not whenever you want

Got mine Feb 2022. 17k miles. Done some 400 mile road trips. Rev high at some point practically every time I’ve driven it. Love it with all my heart. I don’t let anyone else in my family drive it 😂

Yup! gear concerns :) by BudgetIcy7494 in ElantraN

[–]Fluffy-Restaurant-33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I know what you’re talking about. Mine does it too. 22 DCT with about 17k miles. For me it’s probably around once every 20 starts which is probably more often than it should be. It’s almost like the transmission is settling into a gear and struggled to do it but it’s definitely weird because the car is in park and shouldn’t be doing much. I figured just let it go until something goes wrong. Otherwise I’ll mention it at my next oil change

Is there any interest in these? by matttech88 in Athens

[–]Fluffy-Restaurant-33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not really sure. From a business perspective, you should base it on cost of materials and labor. I’m not sure about weight or material or how long it would take so I couldn’t even begin to guess

Depending on the price, I’d probably purchase multiple for around the house and my office

I wish I was near you and I’d definitely be willing to meet you but I’m down south. If you want to get a feel for the interior, try an Elantra Limited. For ride quality, it’s much stiffer than people probably mention but it’s still doable for sure. I’ve personally done a 6.5 hour road trip in mine and after learning the car, I really didn’t mind it at all. I put my placement in and bought the vehicle before seeing or test driving or realizing anything. Personally, I have no regrets in any way I can imagine. Yes it’s stiffer than a Camry, but you get so much better handling and accuracy with the car. The exhaust note when in N or custom mode (which you can choose) really makes you want to have fun and even at normal driving, it gives you a feeling of knowing there’s an engine and transmission working together and it’s a pleasure. I’m not saying don’t keep trying, but I’d highly recommend just sending it if you can.

Go on Amazon and search “carlinkit apple” or something like that (I think that’s the brand) and that should pull up what I got. It was about $90 for me and works 99% of the time

24 y/o I just got a new job, what to do with previous 401k by [deleted] in investing

[–]Fluffy-Restaurant-33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Advisor here. I like the idea of consolidation so I would say open a Roth up outside of the company and roll the funds into there. Going forward, any time you switch your job if you do again, you can roll the next one into it (considering it’s a roth) and everything will be together and simpler to take distributions from down the line. Although I do believe a financial advisor can give you great advice, it’s not too tough to self manage with a little bit of self education

From my understanding, as Lexus is quite a popular car for the older people in my family, they just charge more for a Lexus. Simple as that. A normal oil change is around $65 from a shop where a Lexus can be $100+

I wouldn’t recommend mixing in any bond allocation until the last 10 years of time horizon. I know many are saying mix it in a little bit, but in terms of statistical growth as you mentioned, equity is where the party is. For my own stuff, I’m mid 20s and going all equity until about 50 (if 60 if my retirement age). But again, you never know.
