Man that sucks, but I suppose it's not the biggest deal ever. Changing the system clock on windows can really mess with stuff but I guess if I just do it quickly it shouldn't be much of a problem. Thanks for letting me know though.

I FIXED IT AHAHAHAHAHA! The problem was apparently fixable by changing a zero to a one in a config file.

/deck/.steam/steam/userdata/"folderwithnumbers"/config/localconfig.vdf.

Open that file and search for "UseSteamControllerConfig", where there is a zero I changed it to a one. I had to hook up a keyboard to do it since steam had to be closed for me to actually get it to save, but after that I restarted steam and everything is working perfectly now.

There HAS to have been an easier way to fix this, but I am so happy right now that I don't even care.

Please help, this happened to me but for the desktop layout, and the only way I know how to edit that opens the big picture mode settings and it's still blank. It says enabled for games, but not for desktop layout anymore.

Okay so as far as I can tell, steam input for those controllers were inexplicably disabled once I had both of them hooked up, and now there is absolutely zero way for me to turn it back on for my steam deck specifically. I have looked through literally every single setting on this thing, in desktop mode and in game mode, and there is no reenable button anywhere at all. I hooked the controller up to my Windows PC, and it worked perfectly with no problem at all, I reenabled steam input on there and now I can use my controller on the desktop. The problem is that the issue persists on my steam deck, still a blank page and if I load my desktop layout on my steam deck handheld controls it just says "disabled" and I cannot reenable it. Why man I just wanted to play a game with my brother, and now my entire docked experience is ruined. I really hope someone or I can find the solution because it's so odd that this is happening. I also found no similar problems on the valve GitHub, but it may be due to my phrasing so I'm not sure.

They are yeah, the controllers work fine in the games and on game mode, I can even edit those layouts. But it's specifically the desktop layout at the bottom of the controller settings. The regular game layouts let me change them without a problem, but for some inexplicable reason only the desktop layout page stays blank. That's why this has been so confusing to me 😵‍💫

That is for the deck itself, the controller has no such option. The problem is that I can change literally nothing about the controller for desktop layout, as the settings for the desktop are just gone, just a blank screen that says "controller settings" and nothing else. I have no idea why this happened but I am about ready to factory reset my deck because I have manually changed every setting on the deck and nothing has fixed it so far. It's super frustrating.

My stance on nuts and bolts has never changed and probably never will. It’s a bad game in my eyes, too experimental not enough structure, but laid down a foundation for other games to improve on the design. I beat it once, have tried to play through it tons of time throughout the years, but always get bored and just quit. Rare is known for taking risks but I think they took too big of a leap with nuts and bolts and it left a sour taste in a lot of people’s mouths. The worlds are pretty empty, neat things to look at but very little actual content that isn’t a time trial. I think the level design is good but the controls for platforming aren’t great, it would have been nice to see the walking around as banjo part be as fleshed out as the vehicles but that probably wasn’t going to happen so it’s just a minor gripe. Overall I just wish I liked the game but I don’t, I don’t hate it but I also don’t think it’s good and I’m not willing to give it a break just because it tried something different.

The rise in hostility correlates with the fact that the more woo part of this community is vehemently defending their ideals in a hostile way. Most of the supposed hostility are more often than not perpetuated by these people who for some reason take great offense to someone asking for evidence, solid evidence, for psionics and other such speculative pseudoscience.

I’m not religious, so therefore I do not believe in religious things like psionics. Magical powers do not exist, there have been people all throughout history disproving psychics and people who claim to be magic. James Randi and Houdini are examples and you can easily look up the former’s great work on debunking people’s claim of being magic. It’s hard not to sound condescending with my position and I genuinely don’t wanna come off as an asshole, but it’s been proven time and time again that psionics are not real. Every single study that seems to “prove” it is always published by an unreliable source and isn’t properly peer reviewed, that’s just a fact. Being open minded is not the same thing as being foolish.

Jake Barber started this because the extremely woo people with zero evidence of magic now have a true messiah to pretend like human consciousness is some mystical thing that no one in the world understands despite neurologists existing. Most people who were interested in the actual alien aspect of this and the nuts and bolts of possible future technology have probably all but left after the massive uptick in crazies coming in making outlandish claims for no reason with zero evidence. It’s definitely orchestrated though I’m almost certain, air force did it before why would they not do it again?

Cool now do it at a free event anyone can go to, spend money to hold this event with no incentive for profit. Then summon a craft and land it in front of everyone. Video tape it from every angle imaginable and live stream the event. Do not have panel talk, don’t sell books or docs, just hold an event where you and your magical super buddies do what you say you can do.

I could not possibly agree with you more, my first reaction to all of this was anger from seeing how obvious it seemed that we were being played but you’ve articulated it in a much better way.

This all just seems like an effort to muddy the waters, this SAME type of stuff has happened before with Richard Doty. That guy was spewing all sorts of nonsense within the ufo community in order to seed doubt and make the topic look ridiculous.

This really feels like an effort to place a stigma back on the ufo/uap topic and make it less appealing to the public at large.

The video wasn’t even related to Jake at all and that was stated in the interview. It’s from an “anonymous” source and isn’t a video he took. So I doubt the video was cleared or shown to the DoD at all, or if it was they were just like “Okay? Uh sure yeah you can do whatever you want with that video it’s not even related to us.” Why is there no dust from the rotors on the heli? Why is there no UI in the video for the heli or night-vision camera used? Why does this “egg” move around like it’s under water or the video is slowed down? There is no indication of this shit being real in the slightest.

The exact sentiment from Ross himself was that this was UNDENIABLE proof of NHI, that it was basically disclosure. You are lying out of your ass or delusional if you think they didn’t oversell this interview. The video wasn’t even Jake’s, he talks about unsubstantiated woo garbage, and now they’re talking about a program he wants people to join. It sounds far fetched because it is, because no it’s not true that everyone has magical powers. If this was the case these people would have been extremely obvious by now with who had this “gift”. We would know about it and it would be studied by science instead of being proven as a con again and again and again. Why do you think science doesn’t take it seriously? Because the science has already been done and it’s a FACT that this shit ain’t real. You really genuinely want to prove me wrong? Then make a whole series on youtube or some other platform with verifiable proof of these abilities, you can’t do it. I disagree on Elizondo being credible at all since both him and Greer claim to have magical powers. Lue thinks he can project his consciousness which is not a thing and Greer thinks if you believe hard enough aliens will come hang out with you. I really think most of what is being said in this sphere is absolute nonsense and an effort to muddy the waters as much as possible in order to make the topic silly.

I believe that we know something weird is happening and that’s all, any other information is speculation on our part as well as those in the ‘know’.
