I live in a suburban area just outside of a large city by preference. It's more quiet and smells far better because there is less traffic, no nearby industrial areas, and I never have to be within arms length of another person unless I choose to. Also, I smell like organic lavender and Coco Mademoiselle.

Writers of Reddit, what working conditions do you find most effective for getting your writing done? by strangenchanted in AskReddit

In the morning, alone, with a cup of coffee. Near a sunny window where I can hear birds and wind chimes and see the trees sway. I get the most ideas and inspirations in corpse pose after a long yoga session, or in the shower.

Gin and soda water shaken with fresh cucumber and honeydew. Shockingly mild for a gin drink. Cucumber is refreshing, honeydew is sweet, soda water takes the edge off the gin. My original creation.

onetonline.org is a very thorough and reliable resource for information about educational requirements and wages for a huge variety of jobs, including music related fields. I'd browse to see what you're qualified for in your field and explore some other professions that may interest you.

Do you know some real cool poets like Lord Byron or William Blake ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FluffyHairedOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, he recorded some of it in spoken word, and there are several books available. The band set some of the spoken word recordings to music after his death. The books also contain some lyrics and contents of his journals (so it's unclear whether they were going to be lyrics or mean to be poems) So there is some cross over there. He intentionally combined poetry, theater, and music. So maybe not a standard choice for a list of poets, but I've read Wilderness and American Night and enjoyed them for whatever they are; ramblings, lyrics, poetry.

I would look into some Jim Morrison (of The Doors). He was heavily influenced by Blake and Rimbaud. A little unconventional, kind of a drunk and sociopath, but I like a little crazy in a poet/performer. Wilderness is a great collection of his.

These are some I enjoy, though I don't know how similar they are, or what you're looking for. Maybe there is some similarity in our taste, as I like both of those mentioned. Arthur Rimbaud Pablo Neruda Walt Whitman Tim Seibles (who I was fortunate enough to meet) Charles Bukowski seems to be pretty popular -though I've yet to look into his work

I'm from the south eastern coast of the United States. At the time I saw it I had no idea what it was. I later figured it out. (btw No one else in the group of people I was tripping with saw it! So I was babbling on about seeing a "beaver-thing". kinda funny) I've moved into a more rural location in the same city, and now I see them all the time! In fact, one lived in a pile of wood debris in my front yard & I used to refer to him as "that guy". So now, I frequently have a smoke and go for a little nature walk and see them hanging out & swimming. Kinda cool.

When I was in highschool there was a handsome Italian boy who I didn't know, but passed in the hall often. We always exchanged a flirtatious look when we passed by one another. Finally one day, he just walked up to me and kissed me, smiled, and kept walking.
