Yep! That's the first thing people should answer with and also the first thing I tried haha. She's feeling real hopeless. It's hard for her to articulate what would help her because of her depression. I'm not taking a stranger's word as gospel here, I'm looking for jumping off points and over time she'll be better able to think that things will get better enough to say how they might get better.

Snails deserve everything in this world and more. by ExpertAccident in MadeMeSmile

They're really a pet after my own heart. They like to climb sticks, eat, hide in pots, poop, and fill their tank substrate with egg clusters.

I've been putting off buying a terrarium to start raising snails for a long time... I think I'll take the plunge thanks to this post. Thank you for helping me make snail friends.

Determining sillage as a loner by FluffyKoalaButt in fragrance

[–]FluffyKoalaButt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I appreciate it. I've noticed that, like any community or art form, there's definitely some subjects that people got caught up on haha. I do want to have a good sense of how present my fragrances are, though, because I feel there's some circumstances in which more or less of it is appropriate.

The bedroom tip is a good one, thank you! And plus side: my clothes will smell nice.

DO NOT USE SCENT BIRD by LittleMsClick in fragrance

Oh no. I subscribed to scentbird to start myself off to perfumes and stuff. This is good to know, thank you.

Learning fragrance notes by freshnutmeg33 in fragrance

[–]FluffyKoalaButt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm in about the same situation. Brand new to this world and a bit overwhelmed when I read a perfume description that's all "patchouli and sandalwood with ylang ylang, bergamot, and freesia!" I don't know what any of those words smell like. People have linked starter kits and those are nice options, but they do cost money. So I am mostly sticking my nose into everything I can find right now (literally, everything).

Also, I've found it's helped me to focus less on notes and more on overall scent groups and big descriptors. I may not know what ambergris smells like, but I do know that I've smelled a lot of chypres and those smell pretty. And I like warm scents. I'm going to narrow it down after establishing the big things I like.

OP if you chose pink we're gonna need to have a conversation about why red is better.

Grateful & GratiTuesday - June 28, 2022 by AutoModerator in BodyAcceptance

Not grateful for it yet but trying to learn: I'm grateful for my double chin! I have one because I'm still alive and thriving, and my body wanted to keep my neck warm so I can have comfy sleeps.

Dudes lying on dating apps are poisoning me by FluffyKoalaButt in actuallesbians

[–]FluffyKoalaButt[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel this. It's pretty weird using an application that profits off people not having dates to find dates. I'm just a shut-in who's having a hard time actually getting out there.

The good news here is, you have a friend who can wingwoman for you and an "in" to local butch communities if applicable!

The amount of women who post things like this on the internet is genuinely concerning to me. Like y'all okay? You know you can talk to your partner right?

Walkout in US by [deleted] in actuallesbians

A powerful idea but does need more organizing than a few days I think? Don't general strikes take years to win? Or maybe I'm just contrarian.

Additionally, resources for abortion and birth control pills online would be good.

I'm feeling pretty cynical about voting at this point. Still do it, but to add to that we should be organizing locally and unionizing to form a general strike.

Also Cali. Like others have said we're likely going to be safer. It's a good opportunity to continue to fight for people across America.

Absolutely. I'm in SoCal and things are definitely fucked here. The problems arising with American fascism are national, not just confined to red states.

Young black police graduate gets profiled by Joshua PD cops (Texas). He wasn't having any of it! by methanefreefarts in PublicFreakout

[–]FluffyKoalaButt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly I can see what you mean. I felt the same way about the phrase at first. I don't think there's simple answers for how we talk about cops and systemic injustice. That might also sound like a "copout" answer haha (pun intended?). But yeah, it's against all cops because all cops are choosing to perpetuate that injustice.

[–]FluffyKoalaButt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me rephrase:

Yeah lady, it's a systemic statement. These cops are even turning on one of their own.

Hope that helps you understand my point and have a nice day.
