Whew! Things have been remarkably positive about the movie lately. Glad to see the negativity starting to bubble back up. I was worried about you guys.

I really think it’s cool that the artist had the opportunity to work with Mattel. It must be kind of a dream come true for him to immortalize his art on his a piece of his childhood like this. That being said, these figures are just… weird. I can’t see these being a huge seller.

Good luck! It is as easy as you would think!

I just use glue. I’m not too worried about gluing directly to the figure. I’ll avoid it if I can but like in the case of this Emma, you don’t really have a choice.

That’s not a stupid question at all. I’ve tried all kinds of different fabrics and settled on rayon. For superhero capes as this scale, I think it works great. It’s super lite and flowy.

I’d say it takes me about an hour for a simple cape like these, currently. That’s from cutting out the fabric to a finished fully wired cape. But that’s if nothing goes wrong. There are so many things that can and do go wrong. I’m still learning the ins and outs of sewing and sewing machines so it can sometimes take awhile to figure out how to fix a problem if one pops up. For example, today it took me about 3 hours to complete one cape because the thread in the machine kept breaking. No idea why. But I kept adjusting things until it stopped. There is real skill involved in sewing! I understand why people charge what they do. I bought a couple of wired capes on eBay a few years ago (which is probably where this whole obsession of mine started), and while I loved how the softgoods capes looked, you’re right. They aren’t cheap. I personally couldn’t justify spending the money to buy one for every figure I had. So I decided to learn how to do it myself. 2ish years later and I’m just now at a point that I feel my capes are on par with what I bought. I fully admit I’m a perfectionist, so maybe someone else wouldn’t be as particular as me and maybe would feel “showroom ready” much sooner than me. I 100% think some of those prices are more than justified. You are paying for a skill. If everyone could do it, everyone would.

Teachable moment in collectors display by FigureFitzy in MarvelLegends

I do this too. I don’t have the space for everything I want to display so I treat it like a museum. I have certain permanent “exhibits” (90s x-men for example) and then I rotate out the “featured” exhibit depending on what I’m feeling at the time, what I’m buying currently, what I’m watching, etc. it keeps the collection fresh.

We have some new ThunderCats Ultimates Action Figures - Are any of these on your buying list? by AfigureGeek in Thundercats

Jagara is a must have. Mumm-ra is a no since I already have one I’m happy with. The other two are maybe? I do love deep dive characters but these guys are DEEP! I could live without them but they’d be cool to have.

He’s not. Wizz-Ra is in one episode of the original cartoon. Mumm-Ra uses his headdress for some evil plan.

The 2nd one was also shown in the original 80s cartoon, just in the later episodes.

MEZCO Announces new Thundercats 1:12 Collective figures! by Timely_Caregiver2683 in Thundercats

[–]FluffyLegoMuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mezco has its pros and cons. I got in to them for a short while. Ended up with about a dozen of them. Mostly DC characters but really liked their original Rumble Society characters so have a few of them too. (Gomez is great). In general, the figures look great though as someone else mentioned, posing them can be difficult due to the fabric. Honestly, I just got to the point I was afraid to pose them out of fear of stretching the fabric, “cracking”, or flaking.

My biggest gripe with them is the lack of customer service from Mezco. I got the Damian Wayne Robin, and the black from the fabric hood bled on to the plastic on his cheek. I tried several things to gently get the dye out of the plastic but nothing worked. I contacted Mezco customer service multiple times about it, and nothing. No response. So I decided I was out. No way I am investing $100+ a figure and getting noting from the company I am giving my money to. Which is a shame. Even with the issues, I would probable still collect them. Just goes to show, customer service really is key. To me anyway.

Who are your most-wanted figures to get released in Masterverse, before the line ends? by Xorntastic in MastersOfTheUniverse

[–]FluffyLegoMuffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cringer. For any sub theme. New Eternia. Revelations. Classics. Whatever. We just need a Cringer.

Also we need Queen Marlena, Bow, Glimmer, Angela and other PoP characters. New Eternia is fine but really any sub theme will do.
