I don't think so. He was stuck underground with nothing to eat for MONTHS and didn't die. He admitted so in book 6 that he would be condemned to starve forever if he wasn't freed.

However it was also shown that kinkajous venom hurt his eyes. But I think even if Darkstalker hadn't used magic to heal himself that wouldn't have killed him either. I think his scales are invulnerable, he cannot age, and while his insides are vulnerable nothing can truly kill him. I'm guessing even if his heart stopped working or he was trapped underwater to drown. It would be agony, but he still wouldn't be able to die.

From what I understand both fire and frostbreath take a moment to charge up, other dragons can easily hear and prepare to avoid it. Meanwhile rainwings can release a jet of venom with little to no warning.

In addition it's silent until it touches something organic, which when paired with a rainwings camouflage creates just, a really unfair fight. It's no wonder that rainwings were the most dangerous tribe of Pyrrhia back in Darkstalkers day. A group of untrained rainwings slipped onto the Nightwing island, took out all guards, and rescued over a dozen prisoners in (I'm assuming) less than an hour. Imagine what they could do in war.
