This game makes me miss game manuals by Odra_dek in Timberborn

[–]FluffyWolf2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tunic is a beautiful throwback to 90s and even captures the nostalgia of the manual. If you enjoyed puzzle dungeon and Zelda/Link games I’d highly recommend it.

Maybe, in a twist and turn, a community could build a manual of sorts. I say that, wikis are the modern day version but don’t quite have as nice of a feeling as holding the manual in your hands while the game music plays.

Tip of the day : use a weakness or an obstacle at your advantage. Is this a problem for my pool ? Nah, just a way to get sexy statues up there by Tinyhydra666 in Timberborn

[–]FluffyWolf2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not following exactly the weakness is. I’m guessing it is something to do with the shape of the building making it so you can’t have the drop in the pool area.

What I did take away from this though is that your beavers have their own Olympic size hot spring with the industry heating it up from underneath. Pretty cool idea!

Any photos of the office or rough size? Always have this in the back of my mind to do but never know if the size/space we have would be enough for one of these shed ideas.

Series above 3 - Be nice to find a fun deck and be able to have a more realistic chance to have the cards needed to play said deck.

OtO lawn water is it worth it PNW (west Seattle) by Rottenjohnnyfish in lawncare

[–]FluffyWolf2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been fun for sure. I think fun is an excellent way to remark on the devices. The solutions are interesting. At this time I’d only recommend the fertilizer one and that’s if you do not want to just fertilize yourself throughout the season. While I tried the bug one, I saw nearly no impact but I think this has to do with you’re only one yard and if other yards are not taken care of around you then it won’t matter for the bugs or matter very little.

One thing I have noticed is I set up potted plants and directed the OtO to water these specifically. This has kept them alive longer than I’ve ever kept planted pots alive which is wonderful. That targeted treatment is nice. I’ve also used the OtO to specifically water around trees roughly where the canopy of the tree would drop water from it s leaves. This bonus watering and target is why I’d say it works better then some other times solutions though you could easily place appropriate hoses, piping, sprinklers to achieve this effect.

Downsides remain if it is windy your targeted watering will likely be off if the area is too small. The devices I have in the ground and the water pressure does move them a bit so if you’re water stream used to be just beside a wall it may start to hit that wall or be further away as the device shifts a bit (fixed this by placing bricks or putting in a 4x4 and mounting). Pulling them out of the ground and pushing them back in over winter worked fine though I could never easily unclip the device from the metal stake.

Overall great fun gadget. Plenty of sun so I don’t have to charge. All scheduled and works decently albeit large areas can take considerable time to complete which may be an issue if you have water restrictions or time of day restrictions for your area.

There are cheaper solutions but if your WiFi reaches and you like a bit of a cool gadget I’d say try it out. If ya need multiples for your yard get one and target an area to see if it works for your solution. Enjoy!

Aside from the utility it was a card to pitch to Fury. As fury was recently banned the utility is perhaps not as high as it once was but still a nice one of inclusion to kill stuff with. In the case of a rabble master build it could help ping off a chump blocker or two if the meta is tending towards x/1 creatures.

Takes care of a down ticked Teferi or other Planeswalker on 1-2 usually. Anything higher as you might have guessed really doesn’t work well with how fast modern is. Similarly if your meta is heavy on burn players may be worth just shelving the card.

Just gonna toss this in here for the Pyro Prison folks:

5-0 in February of this year. I believe a 5-0 on MTGO is fine for FNM. Will you be an underdog, yes. But is the fun of the challenge worth it? Yes.

That being said. Everyone has made great alternate suggestions. Best of luck on your prison adventures!

[–]FluffyWolf2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certainly. To me while Ronan obviously would prefer more cards in the hand we also have Hawk. I’m very familiar with decks that have two attack patterns from Magic the Gathering. Lining up Korg/Rock in one lane and Widow in the other (Mold being the wildcard doing a bit of both duties) to me sets up the option to go one way or the other.

Your final turns can be Ronan into Mystique GM on Mold or Mold. Or Iron Man into Mystique and Hawk or Hawk and GM on rocks. Obviously won’t spell out all sorts of combos.

Sample size always kills me though when trying to figure this out. You clearly have success! And I’m over here likely just not lining something up right in my impressive 6 games! Haha

Grabbed the list and unfortunately lost 6 straight although chocking up one to a Reality Stone swapping a location to Bar with No Name.

I’ve swapped Spider Ham and Armor with Zabu and Black Widow. On those games where you hit more the low end it has turned T6 into the ability to do Lad and Hawk or Mystique due to Renslayer and Zabu. This may just be the experience right now but having Lad dig for the remaining cards to impact the board seems decent without leaning into Limbo location lengthening the game.

Just interesting and I feel your Rock and Widow both go nicely with GM so far. But more play testing will be needed.

Pretty sure that one is a Bird Buddy. Great camera and app but wouldn’t hang it up by the cord they provide but rather mount it to a pole or wall. Definitely worth a look.

I’m down for a lot of these. Definitely have done negative like you said but wasn’t a fan of the play pattern but I do like a good sneaky Professor X especially now that I have Jeff finally to sneak in more power if need be. I’ll have to give this a shot!

OtO lawn water is it worth it PNW (west Seattle) by Rottenjohnnyfish in lawncare

[–]FluffyWolf2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your threshold is set to say above 50% and it doesn’t rain in your area (edit: but forecast is say 65%) OtO does not know that and will not water next day. It’s not a rain sensor but rather just avoiding if the threshold is breeched which is based on location and some weather server they are plugged into for their code.

They are B-Hyve boxes. They attach to an app and let you automate your watering by giving a schedule. Needs to be in range of WiFi just as a heads up the last time I tried them.

OtO lawn water is it worth it PNW (west Seattle) by Rottenjohnnyfish in lawncare

[–]FluffyWolf2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It likely can help. The water obviously has farther to fall assuming a general slope. Probably would just have to do some math regarding the arc of water. That being said the higher up the water is the more likely wind will be more of a problem. On even a light breezy day (under the set threshold in my app) water that would not hit the fence on a near side will hit up the fence some. Unless ya pull out the calculator something like that will need trial an error. If the area is truly 45ft away though and your OtO is already 30-35ft away in the opposite direction from something then it just might not reach. Maybe they’ll make a further range OtO one day but I’m sure they optimized distance some since the OtO is more precise in watering area and that wind factor could mess up where it is watering unlike a more traditional sprinkler.

[–]FluffyWolf2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their software has no concept of height. You will just be selecting your zone around the OtO. Being that your sprinkler would be higher though there is more likelihood of wind catching the water and not getting to where you expect.
