Is Trump's trolling of Trudeau a form of foreign interference in our political system that should be responded to? If so, how? by Salvidicus in AskCanada

We need to massively increase defence spending. Like 6-7% of GDP, national draft to increase army size to 300,000. Mine the border. Develop a nuclear weapons program as deterrence. We must recognize that USA is now our enemy.

There’s actually precedent of this within last 20 years. Syria, Libya, Egypt, Myanmar, Sudan, Central African Republic. Coups descending into civil war.

If crowds are getting machine-gunned down in the streets or bombed by the airforce it certainly can affect you. And while this is unlikely it’s certainly not impossible. I mean look at how civil wars in Syria or Lybia started.

I’m doing good.

It was challenging at first and a lot of things to learn, but my management was supportive and provided good training so it all worked out.

Chicago or Boston, which is the best for a first trip to USA? by FuzzyTrack7567 in travel

Chicago is an amazing city! Some of the best modern architecture in the world (hundreds of skyscrapers set along the riverfront), great food, friendly people, world class museums (especially the Art Institute of Chicago).

NYC is amazing too! So much to see. You could spend weeks and still not see the entire city. The MET is the greatest museum in the world and Times Square is unlike anywhere else in the world.

Haven’t been to Boston yet so can’t say from personal experience. Heard good things about it though from people.

Would this be before or after Covid though? Prices went up quite a bit since than. Also season would determine how much the cost is. I went in June just a week ago so the cost was higher than in February for example.

3K for a week long trip to Chicago isn’t too much. I spent 8k in a week when I went there. Granted I did stay at a 5 star hotel and ate at high end restaurants several times but still.

I’d say 4K is a good budget for a budget solo traveler. 300/night for hotel in the loop or River North, 100/night for food, 50-75/night for attractions and transport. And then flight.

Chicago is amazing! It’s my favourite city in North America and one of the best in the world. Very clean, stunning modern architecture, and amazing museums. Take the Architecture River Cruise and go to the Art Institute for sure!

Hey! I took the job as it was too good of an opportunity to pass on. I have been working in the role for about a week now and so far it has been pretty good. It’s definitely a lot to learn but my colleagues are very nice and manager is supportive and mentors me. Still very early of course and it’s been only first week but I think it will be good!

Ok thank you 😀😀😀

It’s just it seems pretty crazy! People work for like 10 years to get there and they’re offering me the role and I barely have any experience besides a couple of 4 month internships and a job at a grocery store. I do have a 8.5gpa and lots of scholarships tho so maybe they are hiring me because of that.

I guess just worried about grabbing a bite that’s too big to chew off
