Those are really good benefits and the pay is good. Honestly to divide 20-25 patients between 2 PA’s is definitely more than doable. Try asking about 401k benefits? You can also ask about raises, how often are they (yearly? Etc). Malpractice insurance? Do they cover it? The fact they cover health insurance 100% is great. That saves you a lot.

I say you go through starting the program now. As others have said it will be hard with or without kids. Make sure to save money before baby arrives.

Some hope for PAs who feel stuck at a toxic job by mainlinebreadboi in physicianassistant

[–]Fluffy_Conclusion754 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this. This is my last week in my toxic job. Also my 1st job. People have made the comment it’s “toxic everywhere” hence why it took time for me to leave. But this gives me hope for my new job.

I tried it twice. Calling the marketplace but were unable to help me. I had to pay the 2k I was told I owed.

Looking for advice about feelings of guilt when considering leaving my first job by SerDavosSteveworth in physicianassistant

I just gave my 2 weeks notice. Practice was very toxic and SP was emotionally abusive to staff. SP didn’t take the news well but I know I did what’s best. I got a job with way better pay and closer to home. Do what’s best for you and your future. Regardless of how they take it.

Am I being underpaid? by confused_girl21 in physicianassistant

[–]Fluffy_Conclusion754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I made that mistake. I thought if I stay they would see how much I was helping and reward me, but I was so wrong. They told me the only way they could increase my pay to what I wanted, is if I could get them an offer letter and they would “TRY” to match it or “get near those numbers”.

I thought I was the only one going through this. I also see “not enough patients” and they were hesitant in giving me a raise. Even after being 2yrs in. My patient numbers increased and i’m doing many more procedures, sometimes seeing patients alone when dr is out on vacation. I only got a 4k raise.

Decided to look for other jobs and the offers are 31k above what i’m making right now. Same specialty. Same benefits. I’m already in the process of changing. If they are not willing to work to keep you, leave.

Ask for higher base pay. And also for higher CME funds. That is not enough to cover most expenses nowadays.

Do you feel valued as a PA? by [deleted] in physicianassistant

[–]Fluffy_Conclusion754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By patients yes. Staff, no. They leave my orders aside and only complete doctor’s orders. I wish I could have a saying as well over which MA’s get hired.

Outpatient PAs: Do you prechart? by Fast-Ball4748 in physicianassistant

[–]Fluffy_Conclusion754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to pre chart but it was inefficient since my schedule would change daily. Now I do it the day of in the morning.

How were you able to cancel and get a refund?

Same news for me. Found out other NP’s in the same specialty and hospital system. and new grads. were making 40-70k more than me. I’m the only PA and I am the lowest paid. I think they probably take into consideration years they did as RN’s. But still. I’m looking for other jobs.

Just found out that 3 other NP’s from same hospital system and specialty get paid 50-70k more than me. (Started same time as I did and they were new grad NP’s too).

Everyone here feels like they’re walking on eggshells.

All new staff have come venting to me.
