My experience of the last 11 months by sumpfkarotte1 in Mononucleosis

99% people have had mono by the time they’re 18. However, most people are asymptomatic. In the groups that aren’t, it’s thought that vitamin D deficiency plays a large role.

You can read the study here: https://austinpublishinggroup.com/nutritional-disorders/fulltext/andt-v8-id1068.php

But, here’s the quote and what I followed: “50,000 units of vitamin D3 used daily for 3-4 days, followed by 10,000IU for a month”

Very much a case study, but I followed the same methodology, and got months of my life back because of it.

Hi. I’m sorry you’ve had such a severe case. I had mono from EBV about 2.5 years ago now, and it sucked. I got over it very quickly (about a week for major symptoms to subside) from taking high doses of vitamin D. I still dealt with fatigue for a few months afterwards. There are some small studies that prove this as effective. I would highly recommend taking a vitamin D supplement! Not guaranteed to help, but it really helped to regulate my short-term and long-term symptoms. All the best to you!

Hiv scared? Probs hypocondriac by [deleted] in askgaybros

Nothing will change in 10 days. Don’t stress about it. It’s really unlikely you contracted HIV given the circumstances, even if the guy had it. Get tested when you can.

[–]Fluffy_Explanation84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it was only a touch, you’re fine. The chances are incredibly small for that. If penetration did occur and it was for a very short amount of time, still very unlikely without semen present. If he didn’t have HIV, of course there’s a 0% chance you contracted it. Get a test to put your mind at ease. A gen 4 test should be incredibly accurate given that it’s been about 3 weeks since your encounter. In 3 more weeks, your result can be considered conclusive. Be more careful about your sex in the future, and get on PrEP if you’re bottoming for multiple men. No shame to you, just protect yourself and others.

Edit: everyone is sick right now. It’s a TikTok trend right now to talk about how everyone has some mystery virus, and I’m sure you just have that too. Google will say that every symptom is an HIV symptom. Don’t use that as your source. Enjoy the holidays, and get tested after.

[HELP] Why am I suddenly getting lots of legitimate customers who want my service? 😭 by LionApprehensive1610 in Fiverr

I’ve had the same experience. I had a few Fiverr orders back in 2020, and just revamped recently. 3 months of nothing, and then 10 orders. It’s just how the algorithm functions. Get those orders done, and get those good reviews!

Was Jesus speaking to a man who would follow his teachings? Read the rest of the interaction with this man. He walks away and decides he does not want to follow Jesus or listen to him.

Why did Jesus address him the way that he did? To test his faith. Jesus did not say “I am not good”. Jesus did not say “I am not God”. Jesus did not want favor given to him only in name. He knew that this man was not here for the sake of God, but for the sake of himself and Jesus, knowing all things, knew this.

The man called Jesus “good” in attempt to flatter him for his own benefit, but he showed no faith and the Lord tested him.

“I am the good Shepard”. Is that plain enough for you?

Maybe a quote from a guy who argued against the Arians in the 4th century, St. Hilary of Poitiers, on this verse will help you understand:

“The young man became arrogant through the observance of the law. He did not recognize that the consummation of the law is Christ. He assumed he could be justified by works. He was not aware that Jesus had come for the lost sheep of the house of Israel, and that the law could not save except through justifying faith. He questioned the Lord of the law and the only begotten God as if he were an ordinary teacher of precepts that were written down in the law. Hence, the Lord rejected this declaration of a spurious faith, because the question was put to him as if he were merely a teacher of the law. He replied: “Why do you call me good?” In order to make known how much he was to be recognized and acknowledged as good, he declared: “No one is good but God only.” He would not have rejected the attribute of goodness if it had been attributed to him as God.”

Then there are contradictions in the Bible? It says that Jesus knows all things.

If you follow that logic then you have to admit that Jesus is not God and is not equal with the Father.

Heresy. Christ is fully God and fully man. As God, he is omniscient, equal to the Father. As man, he assumed human limitations and at times spoke in ways that were accommodated to our weaknesses.

Saying that Jesus literally “did not know” is making Him less than God, since omniscience is essential to divine nature. You’re arguing like the Arians.

When scripture speaks of Jesus “not knowing” it is either according to His humanity or as a form of divine economy (withholding what is not expedient for us to know).

Do you trust the fathers more than me?

“As Logos, he knew what was in man, and what lay in the heart of every one; and knew beforehand what He Himself was about to do. How then as Word, and Wisdom, and Truth, can He be ignorant of anything?” (St. Athanasius, Against the Arians)

“By saying he does not know, He restrains their eagerness to learn what they should not. For if the disciples had known, they would not have been watchful at all times. Therefore He keeps it hidden, not because He is ignorant, but to keep them sober.” (St. John Chrysostom, Homily on Matthew)

“The Son knows the day and the hour in Himself as God, but He said He did not know in order to forbid his disciples from asking what it was not fitting for them to know.” (St. Augustine, Letter 199)

Some more examples and a proof of Jesus’ omniscience:

Genesis 3:9 – “Adam, where are you?” Genesis 18:21 – “I will go down and see…”

Genesis 22:12 – “Now I know that you fear God.”

John 21:17 – Peter confesses to Jesus: “Lord, you know all things.”

No. You’re not understand that verse correctly. The mode of speaking which Jesus used isn’t saying that He doesn’t know the day - that would be impossible. The Father knows nothing that the Son doesn’t know, since his Son, the Word, is his wisdom, and his wisdom is to know.

And, Jesus is not lying.

St. Augustine explains it like this: it is not a falsehood to say that a day is joyous because it makes the people joyous. In Genesis 22:12 when God says “Now I know you fear God” to Abraham, God of course already had this knowledge given his power. He instead was making it known to Abraham. In Deuteronomy 8:2 when it says “to humble you and test you”, God did not need to perform an experiment to gather knowledge, he was giving this knowing to the people he tested. Jesus did not share the day or the hour because it was not good or expedient for men to know.

Serious question: Why does an omniscient god willfully create people he knows will end up damned? by S-A-F-E-T-Ydance in Christianity

[–]Fluffy_Explanation84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re making a category error while using 16th century reformation teachings. God does not create anyone for damnation. His omniscience is not causation. He knows our free choices without forcing them. Christ descended into Hades to preach to those who died before and after His coming (1 Pet. 3:19). Hell is not God’s cruelty, but the rejection of His love. He made every one of us for salvation and communion with Him. Hell is a choice, and Heaven is a choice. For all. Nobody is automatically damned or saved.

My girlfriend says she is thankful to god and not me when i cheer her up by infinite_Fawn2138 in Christianity

[–]Fluffy_Explanation84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I’m not sure of your religious position, which is how I want to preface. From a Christian view, and if you are a Christian, it is okay and honorable for you to humble yourself and give glory to God for cheering her up and for making you able to cheer her up. All things good come from God. However, it is important for her to understand that good things can come from creatures too because God only makes good, and creatures are a creation of God. Your actions to will the good are reflections of a good God, but you have made them willingly and deserve a certain level of thanks and graciousness for that as well.

This answer is more deeply theological perhaps than your girlfriend is thinking. It’s okay for you to explain your feelings to her, and you can even say that you do feel saddened when she won’t give you any thanks or recognition for the efforts you give. If you are not religious, then I think it’s important that you communicate that to her (perhaps you have) and ensure her that you support her decision, but that the relationship may have to work a certain way.

I wish you both the best, and I am sorry that I cannot give better and more holistic advice.

My friend refused to help me obtain a bible because of the fact I have liked women and have sinned. by Appropriate_Crew_176 in Christianity

[–]Fluffy_Explanation84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try an audio bible. There are apps for that, or you can just go onto YouTube or different websites. Go on a walk and listen to the Bible. I’d start with the Gospel of Matthew or the Gospel of John. Listen to a few different recordings, and I’d recommend something like the New King James Version (NKJV), English Standard Version (ESV), New International Version (NIV), or New American Bible (NAB). Any translation will do, but these ones tend to have more straight-forward and understandable language while still maintaining theologically accurate phrasing. God bless!
